I have my VDC on all the time, the only time I turn it off is to race at the drag strip or when I want to feel the power.

Sorry may be a dumb question but how exactly does VDC impair performance that some of you opt to always have it off?

I turn it off right when I start the car as well... unless it's raining in which case I might selectively turn it off to have some fun (in a safe, controlled environment of course)

because the computer controls your car for you in certain aspects, and some of us wants to be in control the entire time

I have yet to drive it off... maybe I'll try to drive it off on a really open lot somewhere...

These threads are usually followed by "I was driving in the rain and I suddenly lost control of my car, VDC was off". I always drive with mine on, unless you are bunning rubber around every turn, no reason to turn it off. If you live in the north you never know, a patch of black ice could be around the corner, and the only thing saving you from the telephone pole is VDC.

These cars bob and sway too much at the limit with vdc on, no matter what the model.(35 and 37 as well)

On unless I'm in the mood for some yaw With VDC on you don't have to worry about what the car will do in a poor traction situation. For example, pulling out of our road in the morning usually takes some acceleration while turning (lots of traffic), and with VDC on I can just nail it, knowing that if there's a slick spot on the road I still won't spin into oncoming traffic.

EDIT>>> This morning is a good example: Cold (for Houston) this morning, dry and dustry road, around the corner on the gas and the G starts to slide at the end of the corner. Normally this would be fun, but in traffic I'll opt for precision and remaining in the right lane!

VDC on all the time, it's there for a purpose. I've heard of too many people that turn their VDC off and then get in an accident during an emergency situation or just driving it during poor road conditions and smuck up their car when they loose control.

i was glad i had it on this morning, started to spin going around a corner (rain, high traffic area, very slick, wasn't going terribly fast), vdc corrected and actually stopped the car before i slid into the other lane, almost didn't notice it working, other than "wow, i'm not spinning, nor am i sliding".

i usually leave it on, mostly 'cause it's a pain to reach for me, and you never know. my last accident was because of an oil slick, you can't always tell what the roads are gonna be like.

I love the G35 VDC... it's not very intrusive IMO for normal driving and has really been nice in some situations where I anticipated oversteer.

The only times I'll turn it off is if I want to accelerate in a straight line from a dead stop.... or hell... even from a 4,000rpm roll in 1st gear since the car breaks the tires loose and back end waggles.
