OMG, just got my new g (non navi, with touring package, 5spd auto)

YOU CAN'T TRANSFER PHONEBOOK!! there is no option to download. Is it only the navigation system ones that lets you transfer?

 

Your correct. I don't have Nav either and you cannot transfer the entire phonebook, only individual contacts, which depending on your phone is not even possible. For example, with Blackberry, you would have to put each contact in it's own category and then transfer like that, which is a royal pain. What you can do is find a phone that does individual contact transfers such as any Windows mobile phone, transfer your contacts one by one and then return the phone : ) I still have remnents of my Blackjack in my phone book, so some names are programmed. I now have a Curve....

 

I actually have it sending one contact at a time, but i find seting it up through voice actually is better.

I do not have a navigation but do have bluetooth. I still can't figure out how to send entries. I can go in there record the name and then send the number from my phone but then it won't display the name. Can someone do a little step by step on what to do with the car. Because the way I see it, the car has to be ready to receive the entry.

I guess not that many people have the journey with just the premium package.

After playing around with the system it seems like i'm not gonna be program/type/send names to the phonebook... only voice tags. (Which just blows) How hard would it have been for them to just let us punch in a name or two... or 40.

I tried this but it only sends the number after you already have a voice tag for it. I hope you were talking about the non-navigation version... because then there is still hope for me and the 2 other people on this forum that don't have navigation.

 

It all depends on the phone model you have. You create a new phonebook entry, and then it gives you the option to say number or transfer the number. You would say "transfer number" and then initiate the transfer from your phone. What model do you have?

 

My Sport has premium only, so I feel your pain a bit. I have a blackberry and haven't yet figured out the best way to transfer, but admit to not giving it much effort just yet. Maybe this thread will reveal some good tips - I'd love to have the names displayed!!

 

I have a treo 650....

Ok so I was playing around with it last night and the name will display when they are calling you and also when you call them.... but the name will not display in the phonebook. When you go into the phonebook... the dam thing just starts to say all the names you have in there. It will not list them so that you can read them.(no text... only voice)

So thats where I've gotten with this.... once again... the name will display when you call them or when you get an incoming call.
