I don't understand the button that is below 'MODE'

Does it really matter what setting it's on?

Also, I'm not sure if it's the car or the A/C in need of service, but when I'm driving in the evening or so, I turn on the A/C to 70-75, and the temperature inside doesn't cool as much. I noticed it's perfectly fine when it's hotter during the day. Is this something the car does automatically?

you reall are the new guy it doesnt cool as much because it is cooler outside, so the AC doesnt have to cool as much, so the auto will lower the fan speed as well as not push out as cold of air (like if it is 50 degrees outside and you have it set on 70, hot air will come out. if it is 100 degrees outside and you have it set on 70, cold air will come out)

and the mode button, if i am thinking of the right button, it cyles through what vents push out the air: head, feet, or both

He's talking about the button below the mode button, which is the vent/recirculate button. It determines whether air comes in from the outside vents or if the outside vents are shut and the air just recirculates.

NewGuyG35, is this your first car? These are questions which pretty much everyone figured out when they got their first car. I suggest reading the owner's manual or at least the Quick Reference Guide. The car is PACKED with really cool features and you will be surprised by how much it can do.

^ And it shows! Seriously, open up your manual and read it sometime, you'll be amazed at what you'll learn.

That's the great thing about the Quick Reference Guide that came w/ the car. It's filled w/ pictures - actual photographs, not drawings like in the owner's manual.

It's very handy.

Recirc is like 80% inside air 20% outside

Regular is like 20%/80%

Or, in an older car, Recirc is the same as MAX a/c.

Perhaps his is still in Japanese, LOL! I mean, the graphic on those two buttons says it all, no book needed for that one!

I'm not sure there is 20% outside air, I always set mine to recirc if there's a smoking vehicle ahead, or a brush fire or anything with smoke, and I never smell it at all if I change it in time. Maybe the cabin filter helps with that small bit. HaHa, my Ford's always said MAX/NORM, I thought it was signed by two guys who built the car!

Recirculate and having air come in from the outside.

If theres a dead skunk outside (or anything else outside that reeks), it'll do you great benefit to press that button. Thats basically the biggest benefit of that button.

Here's the 08 Quick Reference Guide. Should be very similar to the 07 for most features...

The recirculate is pretty damn amazing - I was behind someone towing hot roofing tar and it blocked it completely. Nice.

it means.. a giant *** arrow will fly through your windshield and hit you in the face.. and the other one is a giant arrow will fly around inside your car and hit you in the face multiple times.
