Note this is for the reflash for the cruise control surge.
I didn't have time to do it this service so they are doing it for me at the next service.

I'm booked for Dec 20 and have listed "surging on down-hill with cruise on". They said they'd do the TSB.

Yes. I had mine done in September, it not only fixed the CC surge problem but made a huge improvement in throttle response, including eliminating the annoying surge when you back off the throttle.

Question How do I determine build date? Is it in the VIN?

Is the build date in the VIN?

I'm scheduled today for an oil change and the TSB for cruise control.
I'm not having a cruise control problem, but I lied to him and said that it happened a couple times so I could get it done to fix the throttle tip in.
The service advisor said that they never heard of that particular TSB.
I downloaded the TSB bulletin and faxed/emailed it to him and then called him back.
He said that they'll take care of it, no problem.

My advice: Download the TSB PDF and tell them you have a copy when you are making the appointment with them.

I'll report later.

I found the build date.

I found the build date location when I did a search on G35driver.com.
It is in on a sticker inside the drivers door.

They took mine in for some service work and left me with a loaner. It felt like the flash had been done to the loaner because it wasn't as touchy. That said, it almost felt like the car was slower. I liked the fact that the RPMs didn't hang as much when I backed off the throttle, but other than that I didn't really like it. I was going to ask for the reprogram but now I think I'll hold off.

Maybe I've just trained myself to drive a touchy car smoothly and wasn't forcing the issue enough, who knows.

Just my .02

Had ours done this week. Just handed the TSB to service advisor and said I had the cruise surge. They reflashed and it did make a difference on the throttle response starting from stop. Also had the intel key swap done. All took less than 1 hour.

OK....just got it done yesterday.
What struck me as strange was that the service advisor said that he's never heard of this problem and I was the first to get this done.
That's unbelievable especially at the end of 2007!!
Maybe he was lying.
I was glad I brought in the TSB.
I witnessed him hand it directly to the technician.
Here is my assesment of the post TSB changes:

Throttle Tip In
The throttle tip-in is slightly improved.
I think I actually got used to the touchy pedal.
After driving it awhile, I realized the improvement.
I've been reading on these forums, that owners like the quick throttle and avoid this TSB because they think it will neutralize the initial quickness and numb the acceleration burst.
After I got this TSB, the quick burst is still there....except that the initial acceleration is much smoother at take-off.

Shifting
My car has always shifted very smoothly and this TSB resulted in no difference for me.
The car shifts just as smoothly with no noticeable difference.
I did notice that the transmission seems to find its proper gear much quicker and smoother on the upshifts.
And the lurching after you press the gas hard and then release, is gone.

Cruise control surges
Never had a problem to begin with.
Lied just to get this TSB done.
I wish Infiniti would just own up to these issues and include these symptoms in this TSB bulletin.

my biggest thing would be getting this done and the car feeling slower,,,I dont know I kind of like the initial bump off the line...I think I can control it when I dont need it.

It doesn't feel slower at all. Everything is just more rerfined. You can still pin to win, but in everyday driving it just smoothes it all out.

I'll be making an appointment to get this updated, along with my new keys, sunroof fix, bluetooth fix, and window seals.

Thanks for the update.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what bluetooth fix are you referring to? I can't find any TSB's or recalls for it on infinitihelp.com.

I'd love to get my xv6800 working with my '07 w/nav (the phone already works with an '08 w/o nav).
