Mileage on your 08's ??
I hope I am not stealing your thread but it is kind of a related issue.
I just got the 2008 G35 a week ago and hadn't filled it with gas till last night. So before filling up, as I was driving the range said about 30 miles and the display between the guages turned bright red and was warning me that the range is low and I should fill up. So about a mile later I pull into a gas station and top the tank off. To my surprise it only filled 17.3 gallons when the capacity of the tank is 20 gallons. Now is it just me or does infiniti gives you a large margin of error if you keep driving when low on gas? Also would there be another warning light that would go on next to the gas guage when the gas was getting a lot lower?
Also when it was topped off, the range read 340 miles. Is this about what your car displays when the tank it filled to the neck?
Oh and the mileage from display read 21mpg after the first fill up.(half city half freeway driving)

yes, the warning is extremely early... It's basically like the 'low fuel' light in any other car.

The fuel gauge is for about 18 gallons. Infiniti did this so that you don't run out of gas too soon after you see warning sign comes up. That 2 gallons are for safety reasons. But yes, you do have a total of 20 gallon tank.
EDIT: The range you see is also based on the 18 gallons.
