Anyone change the interior lights to LEDs???
Hi guys,
(tried searching but didn't find anything)
I was wondering if anyone has taken the step to change out all the interior lights from regular bulbs to LEDs. I found someone that did it on their G37 but haven't found anything relating to the G35. Basically my question is... how would you change out the rear seat reading lights? Also what kind of bulb would fit in there?
It would be awesome if someone had pictures as well.
Thanks

I don't know what year your G35 is, but I think they're all the same when it comes to the rear seat lights. If you're wondering, I have an '06 sedan.
Sorry for poor picture quality. All I have is a camera phone.

Where the clear plastic meets the lining, there should be a little slit. That's where you need to stick a flathead screwdriver.

Here's a bit of a better picture of the tiny slit.

Once you stick the screwdriver in the slit, force it upwards a little bit. Not too much or the entire light fixture might come out. Just enough to get the screwdriver in and under the clear plastic. Once it's under, move the screwdriver to the sides to loosen the sides.

I'm not sure if you can remove the clear plastic or not. Where the small arrow is pointing, it's connected to the fixture. I wasn't sure if I could remove it without breaking it. So, I left it as is and worked with what opening I could get. Still a pretty simple install. The LED simply pops into the brackets. If it doesn't work at first, take it out and flip it around. Something about polarity. Flip it and put it back in. If it still doesn't work, then you just have a broken LED.
Hope this helped you.

I've got a coupe so my only interior lights are the two front map lights and the two door lights (which, technically, aren't interior I guess). I would highly recommend changing them out I love the white LEDs with the slight bluish hue they have. Mine are VLEDs from frickinbrite.com.
Now if anyone knows how to change out the orange dash lights from the '04 coupes to white LEDs, THAT is something I would be extremely interested in!
