New the Bridgestone RE050's are 10/32 tread depth. I think you can run to 4/32nds before you need to replace them. Just look for the tread wear indicator. If you're above it, you're still good to go.
PS - It's worth noting the 4/32nd is what more tire companies and auto manufacturers recommend you have. Anything below that is against their recommendation. I personally think (but take no liability) that you start shopping around 4/32 and buy before you hit 2/32.

I'm almost to 15k miles and my tread is pretty low, but when I looked more closely, the tread they were measuring was the outer tread. The inner tread on all four tires had another few 32nds. I asked about it, and they ended up doing an alignment so that they'd wear more evenly. You might want to check this out yourself.
Either way, I think I'll be lucky to get 20k out of these tires...guess that's the penalty to pay for tires that handle this well. ah well...it's worth it to me so far!
