G35S Owner in Distress

I had a horrible knock on the door this morning. An officer informed me that my rims and tires were stolen. As my brain tried to clear its fog, I quickly ran to my car. I found it on four jacks. No tires and rims. Very angry. Yelled alot, but then realized whoever did it, did not damage the car. It was just sitting there, minus the four things needed to drive it.

I post this a few hours after finishing the police report. Infiniti has been very helpful. They are sending over a guy with tires to put on my car so I can drive it back to the dealer. Because tow companies will not install four spares for me (they do not carry them, and who has four spares laying around).

I have the 2007 Infiniti G35 S, with the 18" brushed aluminum rim and the Potenza summer tires. If anyone comes across someone selling a set of four rims and tires in Southern California, please respond to my post and let me know.

I also learned a valuable lesson. Time to get an alarm, especially the alarms that go off when a car is being jacked up.

Just had to vent. Thanks for listening. I hope to be up and running again later in the week, after Infiniti puts on new rims and tires.

Herschel

I thought I did, but then I remember, the S model does not need tire rotation, so I do not remember ever holding one in my hand. The more I think about it, the more I am not sure. My Acura CL had them, but I am not sure about the Infiniti.

I will add that to my list of things I MUST do right next time.

Sorry to hear bro.... I'll keep an eye out... I'll also check out craigslist too...

Something else might help.... I use a car cover when I'm parked outside. I know they can probably take it off, but at least when people drive by you can't see the car immediately and won't really think about it as you pass.

I've used my car cover at work and it help with keeping the dust & bird crap off. Plus I don't have to wash my car alot cuz it keeps it super clean.

I've gotten used to the cover that it takes less than 60 seconds to put it on or off.

Good luck,

john / speedraver

you know there was just another thread about people who got their wheels stolen. i seriously do not understand why people do not think wheel looks are a priority.. I am getting mine put on before i drive off the lot, and would not have it any other way. I think I am gonna make a post so that everyone here gets wheel locks NOW. its just silly if you dont.

sorry to rub it in, but its a lesson learnt right? this is something preventable, if you do not love them enough to know if they are locked then you lose them.

hope u have a low insurance deductible.

Sorry to hear about your wheels man, that suks. My G35S didn't come with wheel locks, but I was able to pick up a set off ebay for around $25 bucks.

Is your insurance going to cover it?

you live in NJ and phil and you do not have wheel locks? !!! omg.. ok they are just lug nuts which require a special key coded wrench attachment to take off the wheels. they come with 4 wheel locks and a wheel lock wrench/key.. you remove one stock lug nuts from each wheel and replace it with a locking one.. which requres the special keyed attachment to turn.... no key.. no take off ........

My dealer included wheel locks at no charge. It was automatic with them.

Here is a pic of the locks for the 07 sedan. You need the special socket that comes with the locks to take them off. You install one on each wheel.
