Dealer Prep, How much did your dealer do prior to delivery?
I curious to hear what others have done preparing for and upon bringing a new G into the house.
When you took delivery of your new G, what level of detaling and prep did your dealer perform? What did you do in that first week or so before you started daily driving?
What was done as part of normal delivery prep? (remove packing materials, check / add fluids, wash and vacum....).
Did you have the dealer install any add ons (sealants, clear bra, tint, lojack, .... ) prior to delivery?
Did you ask that no prep be performed and do all the initial cleaning and detialing yourself. (see link)

Did you drive from the dealer to your detailer / tire dealer / tint shop / clear bra installer?
Initially I'm going for 35% tint and 95% coverage clear bra. I found a tint shop right around the corner from the dealer. I was considering having the dealer do his normal prep, (no add ons) then drive it two blocks for tint / clear bra. He said he needs the car for 24 hours to install both. I'm sure detailing work is required prior to that install, so I was curious what others had done.
thanks

There is a specific list that the technicians do to prep a car for sale on the lot... its called a PDI inspection... (Pre Delivery Inspection)
Its mandatory that all dealers do this... Its a full inspection on the car, put the finishing touches on it (add center caps, unwrap floor mats, put in nav disc, etc etc...)
We also put wheel locks on every car on our lot...

Here's my story...
As far as prep goes, the clear bra was installed at the dealership before I picked up the car. Aside from that the dealer did nothing but remove the random plastic coverings and tags; I had told the salesman not to do any washing or waxing.
When I got the car home, I went nuts on the carpet and floor mats with a few cans of Scotchguard.
Then I did two coats of Klasse SG 24 hours apart, followed by a top coat of Natty's Blue 3 days later.
It was only two weeks later I had a chance to go back for the dealer-applied undercoating (j/k).
