Trying to Get a Price Quote from Dealers via email
Why are dealers not answering my question? I am asking them to send me a price quote for a G35x. Below is the email I sent to 2 dealers. What part of my email dont the understand.
"Hello Dealers name goes here ,
I am interested in purchasing a Infiniti G35X with the following accessories:
Premium Package
navigation package
sport package (i know this might delay the car)
tech package
rear spoiler
illuminated kick plates
and splash guards
Please send me a price quote of this model based on the accessories listed above.
Thank you,
Giorgios"

No one is going to bother with you with a lame email like that. You have to show them that you are serious and not just emailed them on a whim. You also have to let them know that you are ready to purchase! Also let them know your time line for purchasing and what research you've done. Dealerships are more likely to reply with someone who has done his/her homework.
Trust me, I did all my negotiating via email when I bought my G35. I only went to the dealership for test drives and to pick up. Good luck!

We did something similar to boknows. We bought a packet from www.fightingchance.com. The packet includes information about invoice pricing, dealer fees, kickbacks, everything. It includes an email that you can customize to your vehicle and the options you want on it. It also tells you how to go about contacting the new car sales managers and get their emails/fax numbers to deal directly with them and your email. It follows along the lines of we are looking with these options, this color, and have contacted X number of dealerships. Also we will not be doing any useless negotiations. We want the offer for the car plus TT&L. Nothing else added when we come to pick up. We gave our first thru third choices of color. We then said that we will be purchasing a car within the next 3 days, so the best offer will get the sale. We will contact each dealership to let them know what we have decided. Anyhoo ... something like that. Each dealer responded as we sent this out 3 days before the end of September, and that is how we got an offer on an 08 from 1 dealer that was cheaper than all the other offers on 07's. Went that afternoon, met the new car sales manager, showed up the next morning signed the papers, and drove off. Just a thought.

When i was in the market for a car i went to edmunds.com. When i searched new cars i put in the g35 and put in all my options. At the end it shows all the dealers in your area when you put your zip code in and you select them all and click submit. I got emails from all the dealers the following day so try that.
My e-mail was similar, but included a call to action and more definition around buying. Think it went something like:
Hi:
I am in the market for a G35 Sport with xxxxx options, and will purchase within the next week. I would like to work with the dealer with the best combination of price and service, and look forward to discussing both the available price and support from your dealership, so as to make the most informed decision.
I understand that MSRP on this model is $xxxx, and invoice is $xxxx.
The basic concept was politely a) let them know you're talking to multiple dealerships, b) let them know you're serious, and there's a deadline, c) let them know price is a key issue, and that you know the price / invoice, but d) also give them a chance to feel like there are other considerations.
Good luck! I received replies from seven out of eight dealerships I contacted.

if you're in a large metropolitan area,
forget email, just go to the dealership...
if you're in a smaller town, email around the larger cities around you and be patient...
even in socal, some of the dealers are slooow to respond to emails, so i was impatient and went to the dealership one day, bought the car the same day..

I did the same thing when I bought the last 2 cars before my G35. I received many responses from various dealers. However, the key things I did were:
1. Stated I am ready to buy immediately.
2. Stated exactly the interior and exterior color preferences I wanted and in which order.
3. Stated the price I wanted to pay.
Within hours, I had responses from many dealers. Some refused to play along and kept trying to convince me to come in. However, I had 2 dealers who agreed to my stated price.
I emailed back and forth asking them to confirm the exact out the door price w/ tax, reg fees, doc fees and all other misc fees and reached a full and final agreement before I ever set foot in the dealership.

nah that email is not lame.. you shouldnt ask them for a quote tho, you should tell them what you want to pay. I suggest saying I am willing to pay X amount.. being invoice price, if you are interested. please contact me ASAP to close the deal.. I would also state no funny fees or the deal is off. I usually dunt waste my time with niceties with stealerships I say ok. this is what I want to pay yes or no, no? thank you bye bye.. and move on.
i emailed ~5 dealerships and got quotes from all 5, most at MSRP, once i got the quotes, i emailed them all back on prices that others offered (the lowest price they offered) and they emailed me counter offers, finally i emailed them the offer i was willing to pay, and a dealership gave me the car i wanted (color and options, nothing less/extra) for the price i wanted
I don't think you should tell them what the other dealerships are offering you because you are losing some of your power. Say one dealership is quoting you $36500. Another dealership might have quoted you $35,000, but if you tell them the $36,500, then they are going to come in at just below that. Also, you should let them tell you a number first... because you never know, their number might be lower than what you were going to suggest. Then, after they give you a price, then you tell them what you want to pay if it's lower than their offer.
