Seats in Sport package

I am currently in the market for a G35, and my model of choice would be the G35xS. I love everything about the sport package except the seats. I sat in one recently but the bolsters are a little uncomfortable. I would hate to fore go the paddle shifters and the cool front fascia because of the stupid seats. Anyone else have an issue with the sport seats? Any way around it?
On a side note, I understand the throttle response has been softened for the 08 models, but I kind of like the quick response of the 07's even if it is not supposed to be that quick.

IMO, the sport seats are amazing.....but I've got a smaller frame. I've heard of the sport seats being uncomfortable for the bigger guys however I can't relate. If you are looking for Sport features like the paddle shifters, side sills, VSLD, sport bumper, 18" wheels, it would be easier to get a Sport model and swap out the seats. You can get a Journey with the normal seats but would be more difficult/impossible to add the Sport features.

Where you located?
Buy the xS and you and I can swap seats!

If you only want the front fascia and paddles, you'll be happy to know that you can now get a paddle kit for $200- shipped and the new Nismo front lip makes the base front fascia look killer.

You have options if you don't like the seats.

The side bolsters, both side and seat, are adjustable. When I first test drove the car, the skinny salesman had them cranked in. Now that I bought, I widened them out and they're fine. I tend to drive with my knees out wide too and the bolsters on the seat were a bit firm. I widened them, scooted the seat back, adjusted the steering wheel back, and pulled the thigh support out. Now I'm very comfortable. Bottom line is they are very adjustable or would be easy to swap with someone looking for the upgrade. Go for the S!

I was dead set on getting a sport, but the sport seats were the deal breaker for me. I sat in them for over 2 hours between test drives and just checking the car out just hoping against hope that I would be able to get comfortable in the seats. The side bolsters felt great to me. You can actually adjust them quite wide. However, the thigh bolsters OTOH were murder on my legs after only a few minutes even when fully deflated. So, in the end, I very reluctantly went with a non-sport.

And it's not because I'm a big guy by any stretch either. It's just that I prefer to sit with my legs further apart than what the thigh bolsters would allow plus the fact that the thigh bolsters have metal plates in them that hold their shape really firmly.

With that said, if I had to do it again, I would go with the sport because over on the G37 forum, one of the members was able to have an upholstery shop remove the metal plates from the thigh bolsters which solved that particular issue.

If you decide to go with the non-sport, things like the 18" sport rims ($400 option) and paddle shifters ($200) can be easily and cheaply added. However, you would be missing out on the larger brakes and the LSD (not sure if the G35x's sport pkg includes these items), deeper front airdam, and sideskirts.

I am in Rhode Island, so this would be possible, but I am not quite sure if I would be able to do that if I am in a lease though.
Do the upgraded brakes come with the sport package or just on the sport models. Infiniti's website does not list it. Same with the VLSD. I dont think adding things like the paddle shifters and wheels would be possible in a lease.

The sport rims are a $400 option for non-sport models. However, I'm not sure if that option is available on the X.

The paddle shifters are OEM Infiniti parts and are exactly the same as the paddle shifters on a G35S. They are a direct bolt on and all G35s (sport, non-sport, X) come pre-wired to accept the paddle shifters. I am positive it will not hurt your lease. Heck, they will not even notice when you return the car and the next owner of the car will be pleasantly surprised to have paddle shifters on a non-sport.

there have been several threads on this topic already, and i'd say 30-40% of sport owners have had bad things to say about the thigh bolsters in particular. i'm fairly thin and even at the widest point, the thigh bolsters are still not comfortable in my opinion. the non-sport seats are much softer and forgiving. i actually almost passed on the sport because the journey's seats were so much more comfortable on my thighs. but the sport package was too good to pass up, with the slip, larger brakes, aggressive front and side fascias, paddle shifters and aluminum interior accents. plus the seats have thigh extensions, a very cool feature. and the sport stiching is nice. over time i'm hoping that the thigh bolsters wear out / loosen up so i can get a bit more comfortable.

i'm by no means thin, i weigh 215 and i am only 5'10'. however, the seats imo are very comfortable and sometimes i adjust the air pressure inside to make it feel just right. when it's warmer i like more air in there but during this time of the year i let a lot of the air out.

To answer your question, the G35s brakes do not make it into the G35x Sport model. Same brakes as the G35x.... not sure why they did that.
