i consistently get ~320 miles per tank. The computer says i get ~17.x miles per gallon. On long trips (I drive to houston often, ~5 hours) i get somewhere between 360-400 miles and i know i can do better b/c it reads i get like 20-22mpg, but if i went SLOW ~50-60 it would say i get like 25mpg...

I got just over 18 on my last tank, 2300 miles on the odo! Traffic will kill your mpg, I don't care what you drive!
It was more of a joke than anything. I was at about 19.5 through the break in, but now that I can use DS mode, paddle shifters, and go over 4000 RPM, I've been having more fun so the mileage ticker is down to 18. I've relaxed a bit now, so it will head back up I'm sure. Although I do mostly city driving, so 19-20 will be pretty good for me.

wow your city streets must have no stop signs or lights and a speed limit of 40 if you can get 270 miles from a full tank while driving through the city. I'm jealous!

It all depends on how you drive and where you live. If you are in area with a lot of traffic lights / stop sign. You are not going to get good gas mileage.

I bet that went up after you hit 10k, right? That's been my experience with the VQ anyway, once I hit 10k, the mpg was way better, as well as consistent!

I average between 17.5-19mpg. My friends 335i gets 25mpg during his daily commute into Washington, DC. Our cars suck!

It has been getting better which actually surprised me. I figured that would not be possible with the use of the winter blend fuels right now.

EDIT: Not sure if this helped or not but I cutover to Amsoil at around 2700 miles.

My work commute is slanted more on the highway, but I typically got 19 miles per gallon. Once I got the new ECU flash, I'm now consistently getting 20 miles per gallon.

New observation on the MPG, today I did a small road trip here on the state, on the return, I reset the MPG/MPH screen as I got on the Interstate, when I exited the Interstate 70 miles later, the screen read 26.8 MPG/74.3 MPH, that's pretty good IMO!

I have noticed Tires make a difference as well. On the stock sport 18" summer tires (I forget what they are...) I was getting around 23 in the city and 26 @ 70 on highways (I hit 29 MPGs 3 times coming back from SAV going about 65... no ).
On a side note, I do have a 6MT, which helps MPGs (that and I drive a manual).
At the beginning of Dec, I switched over to GY Eagle F1 AS tires (same staggered sizes fronts 225/50/18 rears 245/45/18). Since then I am only getting about 20 in the city (no change in driving style) and 23 on the highway @70-80++ (because I can't keep my darn foot off the gas )

Ok i have a US car but i have set my computer etc to L and KMs and according to my fuel info on the nav screen which I reset almost everytime I get a new tank of gas, is around 15km/L which if googling gives me the right info should be about 35mpg ??

But according to what I have read here, that doesnt seem right?

But I do get more than 500km on a tank of gas, from Ottawa to Toronto is already close to that and I have a few bars or gas left when I get there...

i actually checked the fuel efficiency and its 15L/100km. At its best. City driving nets me 19-20L/100KM. Google says thats 15.6809723 miles per gallon. So thats bad? lol I am guessing. Saying the gas tank is 75L that nets about 500KM at its best, which is 310 miles.
