So yesterday i am driving, and i shift over to DS, and guess what!! NO SHIFT!!

It was still indicating D for drive. Not DS. I had to restart the car to reset it and then it worked again.

This is strange. I could never get it to do this again.

Furthermore, i am still waiitng for the dealer to tell me why i still get the SLIP/ABS/VDC lights coming on... This was happneing before the remote starter alarm, 0gauge stereo install.

Should show "DS"

Mini pointed out that when he pushes the stick to the left, the red dot matrix display still reads "D." It should read "DS," so something is wrong with the car.

For me, this falls under the heading of "Happened once, that's weird - lots of electronics in the car, maybe not an issue...Happens again, head to the dealer."

I think there is a TSB concerning the SLIP/ABS/VDC lights staying on.

i had a loaner ~a week ago and ABS kicked in while leaving the lot (was only going 5mph) so i thought it was weird, i go down on city block and bam, the car shifts hard, ABS/VDC/SLIP lights turn on. I turn around, now i'm in the middle of traffic and it won't accelerate b/c i thinks i'm slipping....

I have had this happen quite a few times on my G. When put into "manual shift mode" it will read DS on my gauge and shifts like a regular automatic. If I upshift or downshift then it changes and stays in true manual mode. The gauge tells me what gear I am in and so forth. Never really thought about it being a problem...

That's normal operation. It will stay at DS and shift automatically (at different points than D) until you manually shift one way or another. Then it will be in manual shift mode.

Low brake fluid level is what causes those lights to go on. My level was actually a lil above the low level but when accelerating the level would dip below the low level and cause the lights to go on. I added fluid to a lil where it says high and I havent had those lights come on at all with heavy driving.

You should get your brake pads checked. It is generally low to reflect wear in the pads. You normally do not add fluid because it will refill when pads are replaced and calipers are compressed. If you top off it will become a mess if some fluid isn't removed when brakes are serviced.

Will tell them to check when I get it serviced next but I'm hoping that a car with only 21k miles shouldnt need brakes this early.
