I would have called the cops right away, called a friend and them block him so he couldn't leave (done it before) taken pictures like you did, and would have sat in front of his car until the cops came and if he got out of hand would of thrown his a$$ onto the ground.

Have his plate run, find a local attorney that will handle the case, sue him for damages and court costs. Easy. The cost of the damage will be minor in comparison of the cost to defend the case, and the ins. company will pay the claim.

I know what you mean, some idiot rolled back into me on an incline part of the freeway during traffic. He wasn't stopping so I was honking for like 10 minutes telling him to stop. I was on the phone with the police because it was now clearly a hit and run. I ended up waiting 2 hours and when the police got there, they were like "it's just a bent license plate" and pissed me off so much. I asked them if I can get the person for hit and run and they were like no, because first of all, you need a witness to claim that it wasn't my fault and second, I didn't keep enough distance. Who the hell keeps 3 car length distance during rush hour traffic in LA? And it wasn't in their jurisdiction or something.

Anyways, I ended up with 2 dents behind the license plate holder (it's not visible) and nothing else. I would've just let him go if he stopped but the fact that he didn't stop got me.

I just thought of it as a bad day and just forgot about it... Glad to see you handling it so well.

-Edit- I also see that you're in LA. 안녕하세요!

^ +1 exactly what I was going to post. ^ I'm glad you got such a good shot of the license plate.
