A new standard key cut and programed for the 05 without keyfob cost $160 after taxes... I doubt the I-key can be cheaoer...

 

When i asked before (when I thought I had lost one) I recall the dealer telling me about $300

 

There should be two different costs - one if you have your key code number. And, a lot more expensive if you lost your key code. The salesman made a point of telling me not to lose the key code. I wrote it in my manual.

 

THe quote I got was for both parts of the I-key (assuming I had the key code). If you don't have the key code I imagine it is much much more.

 

Where do you find the key code?

 

It is on a piece of metal that I got when I purchased the car. The salesman said to keep it in an important place.He said I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE IT.

 

My dad got his remote/key replaced/reprogramed for $300 at a Toyota dealer (it was for Sienna).

 

hmm i dont remember receiving one. Time to go look around and see what i received when i bought my car

 

I think it was in the book with the wheel lock thing.

 

It is a small metal tag attached to one of my keys. It is a four digit number.

 

My dealer told me that the new key was ~$500, even if you have the key code...

the key code should have been on the original key ring in the owners manual
