So those two things automatically mean that "so pretty much everything from the prem. package gives you problems"? And for the record the issue with the finisher was for only certain early build dates and it's been corrected long long ago. So yeah like I said, an ignorant statement.

Supposedly, I had the TSB wireharness fixed, the seats still take forever to heat up (check that) get moderately warm.

I took it back again and they said that the seats heat up in 6 minutes, well ahead of what is acceptable to them... IN A NICE WARM GARAGE!!!

It is a different when out in the cold weather!.

The only problem I'vd had with my premium package was the sunroof finisher at around 1000 miles. Bluetooth, memory seats, auto-dim mirrors, Bose system (even though I don't really like Bose.) heated seats and other features had no problems with 32.3k miles on the odo.

Since you can get the sunroof by itself, you can't say "everything" from premium package has problems.

The heated seats on this car is the most embarassing failure of this nice car. Mine barely get warm after 5 minutes. And even that I wonder if it's my butt that is warming the seats.

Umm, no. I actually use them sometimes when I have the windows down at night and it's a bit chilly outside.

Huh...mine take a few minutes to warm up, but then they're noticeably warm. Of course, it doesn't get that cold in Houston, but most of the time I have to turn them back off because they get TOO warm.

This is post-TSB.

So I have been dong some reading on here about the seat heaters. Do the 08's have the problem??

I just picked up my g35x on Saturday. It is 4 degrees today. I drove around 30 minutes today with them on hi. They never got hot. Just kinda warm. Then stopped for 10 minutes and drove another 30 minutes. Same thing.

My last car was a Subaru and it had 4 heat settings on the seat. I only put it on #2, 3 times in all the years I had the car. They would get way way too hot even on 2. So I don't think this in my head...

So the big question, should I bring it back to the dealer to fix, or do these seats simply suck???

Unfortunately they just are not that good. I got one of the first 07's that hit the dealerships so mine initially barely worked at all- after a 45 minute commute I would only occasionally notice that they were on. Since my car was covered by the TSB I got the wiring harness swapped out. They are much better now than they were but are still the weakest of any heated seats I've sat in. They warm up in 5 or so minutes, but not really much quicker than the car. You can have them on high for 1/2 hour before you're thinking "Man, my rear end is toasty."

The rest of the premium package rocks though. I had the sunroof thing but it was a 2 minute fix.

Yeah I feel the same way. It takes really long for it to get warmed up, but even then I am not sure if it actually got hot or im thinking its hot. My friends say they cant feel it get hot ? Mabye i should bring it to the dealer.

A small update for you guys. -1 today and I took off my coat and got in my freezing car!! I wanted to make sure the seats were ok. On high it took abou 5-10 minutes before I felt it. About 20 minutes in they were really warm and I lowered them. At least the work, but not very good. My Subie would toast me through my coat within 5 minutes on setting of 2 (out of 4). Oh well, No car is perfect I guess. The leather is thicker and a bigger seat overall so I am sure that doesn't help.

Anyway, loving the rest of the car so far!!!

Sorry, as the topic starter I haven't been engaged since...

So as it was asked: Yes, during one of my (many) visits to get my seats fixed Infiniti performed the TSB for the wiring harness; that did absolutely nothing.

I too was told on a subsequent visit that the seats were "operating as designed", which is B.S.

As others have pointed out, the seats in their other cars work great but the fact is, this is an embarrassing failure with regards to the quality of this car.

Infiniti of Denver took my seats out of the car, and spent 2 days before they finally corrected the problem. Additionaly, I also had a problem where the passenger air bag light would remain "disengaged" even when an adult sat in the seat...this was also fixed when they had the seats apart.

According to the service guy, they discovered a design flaw and were going to attempt to update the TSB with this information...

My point is, don't settle for mediocre performance. When we all got these cars, we received a fancy "Zen" brochure that accomplished nothing but informing us of Infinit's pursuit of perfection in engineering...so I'm only expecting their own advertised standards!

So, after I was a royal P.I.T.A. they fixed it, - my seats heat up quickly and comfortably. Like they are supposed to.

Let me know how this works for you. I might bring mine in the next time I have to go through that area. It would be great to get these seats to heat up quickly..

Today my friend turned on the passenger heated seat. He said it got warm quick... On the way back I let him drive and I sat in the passenger seat. It did get warm quick and was too hot within a few minutes. He didnt' feel much on the drivers side.
I guess that cofirms it isn't me and there is something up with the driver side heated seat...

Guess it's back to the dealer eventually!!!
