MIne comes from the Headliner I think..

I get a tapping noise when I go over bumpy road. (A lot of them in Los Angeles).
I sat in the back yesterday and listened by the passenger side rear door. The sound seems to be coming from the headliner rather than the door. Like there is something loose in there but still attached.

Any clues as to getting into the headliner to stuff some foam in there?

There were also some posts about the rear door window guide. But I don't think that's it on my car.

Thanks for your help.

These are some explanations that I got from Metro Infiniti in regard to the rattles:
1. The rear passenger rattle is from the headliner. There was a TSB out to replace some parts in the headliner. I took my car there to take care of that noise. It went away, well, most of the time and comes back once in a while.

2. The passenger seat noise comes from the wearing of plastic and the leather seat. The dealer advisor told me that the noise is a result of the leather crease getting worn out on the seat thus the rubbing on the plastic parts beneath the seat become more apparent.

They are prepared to do nothing about the noises as the tech guys can sometimes hear the noises but they are not consistent. I must've went in to the dealer 10 times or so in my 12 months of ownership in regard to this. All the loaner cars that I drove had rattle noises, some worse than others, which have between 3000 to 7000 miles on them at the time. However, there was one loaner car that had more than 20,000 miles on it and it was whisper quiet.

So it looks like it's a hit and miss thing....

I have the driver's side door rattle and rear deck.

Plus my brakes squeak and the paint sucks.

It's a good thing the car looks good, drives great, and is comfortable.

Honda Accord
I have a rattle noise coming from left rear passenger side headliner... close to the dome light. And another one from the front dome light area.

I usually don't notice them when I blast my music on, but once they're off, those rattles annoy the shiet outta me.

Mine sunglass holder rattles all the time even without sunglasses . It's going to be repalced under warranty.

Zero

I got my G35S in December '07. I now have 4700 miles on it. Zero rattles when driving. Zero creaks.

The only thing I do notice is a bit of a rattle when I close the driver side door. Whenever I close that door, I hear a quick series of 3 or 4 dulled knocks from inside the door.
