They state in the article "New 18's"

Are those pics of wheels the G37 wheels? I don't think they are the 19s that a few(808Mike most recently have put on). Are they the G37 non-sport wheels maybe? I don't think I've even seen those yet...

If you look at this high res picture the wheels are slightly different. It looks like a fusion of the coupe and sedan wheels.

Definitely a new design despite being a derivative of the 37 Coupe's 19s. These Sedan pieces are a split 5 spoke design whereas the Coupe 19s are a true 10 spoke design.

"only" 306hp and 258ft-lb torque. Sounds to me like with a 7-spd auto, de-tuned 3.7l VVEL engine they're shooting for better fuel efficiency than the G35 here in the US, but same performance.
I read that as well, but the final numbers are not out yet, and this is what European press release says for the G37 Coupe:

G37 Coupé
• Stunning, uncompromised styling
• Two plus two cabin
• Rear-wheel drive driving dynamics with Four-Wheel Active Steer availability
• Potent 3.7-litre V6 engine producing over 310PS
• Six-speed manual or advanced seven-speed automatic
• Class leading passive safety features including pedestrian-friendly pop-up bonnet
It says over 310PS and over 350NM, same as the G37 Sedan.

The USDM G37 actually gets 335PS and 366NM, so who knows.

I actually think those 18's are even more aggressive looking than the coupe 19's.

Infiniti is going ballistic overseas... they also announced the 09 EX37, *bleep*ing all of the EX35 owners in the *bleep*.

Well this also confirms that the JATCO 7 Speed Automatic that was announced a few months back is indeed going to be Nissan's new Automatic Transmission of choice in RWD applications. At least we know that the '09 USDM FX will almost certainly get this slushbox.

This raises the question of why did Nissan/Infiniti even bother making the HR35?

Sure beats the CVT on the Nissan side. LOL.

+ 1 million bro. Thank the Lord, Infiniti had the brains to keep the CVT out of the G coupe/sedan line!

I thought the 3.7 engine was just a stroked 3.5 HR? Or is there some other huge difference in internals?

I think it was just a placeholder... I personally wouldn't have purchased an 07 if it had the old engine in there. No offense to first gen owners.

Given that the European market is much more gas efficiency conscious, and that the G37 coupe isn't available with a 7spd auto here in the US, it would not surprise me at all if the 3.7L was de-tuned on both the coupe and the sedan and combined with the 7spd for better mileage. Mileage is a much stronger selling point in most of Europe than it is here.

I'd love to see a 7spd auto mated to a engine here in the US that would get me 20+ mpg city and 27+ highway with similar performance. It's not the money I spend on gas that bothers me, it's the fact that the G is really not a very green vehicle.

For the 2007-2008 G35 Sedan...
For the 2007-2008 350Z...
For the 2008 EX35...

For later revisions to the Altima/Maxima

To me it appears the VQ35HR had a decent run IMO. You have to keep your lineup updated or fresh, or else you lose customers.
