I have 20 inch MRR HR2s.

The stock front tires weigh ~51-52 lbs each (225/50/18).
My new front rims weigh ~55.5 lbs each 245/35/20).
The stock rears weighed in at ~50.5 - 51 lbs each (245/45/18).
My new rear rims weigh in at 59 lbs each (275/30/20).

Total approximate weight increase was around 25 lbs (given the slight fluctuations in the scale).

On a side note, my new exhaust weighs less the stock one. I am assuming I probably broke even on the deal.

freehold, NJ here... gotta go with 20's, you can make up the weight in other areas... pick up a set of MRR's they are reputable and a good value..

Remember that is unsprung weight. Much different than normal weight; most calculators I have seen say unsprung weight works like adding 6-8lbs to the car for each 1lb of sprung weight.

I went from cast ~40lb 20's to forged 24lb 20's and noticed a HUGE difference in how the car handled, braked, cornered and mpg. My spare set of forged oem 19's feel way lighter than my iForged 20's too.

IMO anyone getting 20's or any wheel for that matter should get forged and save as much weight as possible.

There is a performance loss but I would say its minor at the most. I am currently saving up for 20's, imo the looks makes up for the performance loss.

The other issue I didn't say is the tires. You have to remember that most people who go with 20's go with much larger rear tires. Those weigh a lot more but give a lot more grip. Well worth it IMO.

That was the point I want to add. I weighed a set of wheels that I have which were 18's. The wheels were 28 lbs and tires 25 lbs each. Rotation mass does not care if it rubber that's rotating or if it's metal. Larger wheels have lower profile tires which weigh less. I plan to buy a set of 20 inch wheels that weigh 22-24 lbs and the tires will weigh less than 22. Over all weight is less and rotation weight will be less, therefore these 20 should increase performance. 20's don't have to produce less performance.
