Polished chrome on trunk?

Has anybody officially done any polishing of the chrome strip on the trunk? I found a few threads with peoples thoughts on it, and opinions about if it would work, but I can't find any definitive answers.

Mine has a few small scratches that I know would buff off if that strip is buff-able but I'm worried it will ruin it by trying. Anybody?

Nope...all I did was just wash it like normal and it looks fine. If it needs extra shine, I just use some ammonia-free glass cleaner.

Mine looked like A$$ after this horrible NE winter.
I used some Zaino Z6 and a damp polishing pad and with a little elbow grease, it's back to perfect again.
It wasn't pitted so 'polishing' wasn't necessary.

Mine has not scratched up yet, but if it did it would be a good excuse to get it painted body colour.

I use Nu Finish, it works great. I also use it on the rims and the chrome grill, the whole car basically.
