Is my infiniti dealer overcharging me?

So my 2007 g35x sedan is in for the 15k mile service and my service advisor said it would cost around $600, is he ripping me off or does it really cost that much. The car is at infiniti of kirkland in Washington, And also how much did you guys pay for the 15k mile service?

I believe that service advisor is a dumbazz. And yes, they're ripping you off and that's why we call them stealership.

Go to service, then "View Service Menu" on the lower right... it says $259.95 for 15k service but the "**" says an extra charge for cars with two air filters... I guess the second air filter necessitates 340 bucks of work? haha

Those prices are from 09/07 for what it's worth

$600 dollars seems a little steep even for the Premium Maintenance. I'd want to know exactly what I'm getting for $600, perhaps an itemized list of work to be done. The majority of the stuff you can do yourself anyway, most is inspections of varies components.

My G35 came with the first 6 scheduled maintenance free. They did this so they could build a service relationship with me.

15K miles

PREMIUM MAINTENANCE
o Replace engine oil and filter
o Lubricate all locks/hinges
o Replace engine air filter
o Replace in-cabin microfilter
o Replace wiper blades
o Rotate tires (except G35 Coupe, Sport)
o Inspect the following:
__ Air conditioning system
__ All lights
__ Automatic transmission fluid
__ Axle & suspension parts
__ Brake lines & cables
__ Brake calipers, pads, rotors
__ Brake light & cruise control switches1
__ Differential oil
__ Drive shaft boots (4WD/AWD)
__ Engine drive belts
__ Exhaust system
__ Front suspension ball joints
__ Manual transmission oil
__ Propeller shaft (4WD/AWD)
__ Steering gear and linkage
__ Steering linkage ball joints
__ Transfer case oil (4WD/AWD)

SCHEDULE 1 MAINTENANCE
o Replace engine oil and filter
o Replace in-cabin microfilter

so the 15k mile service should cost me 259.95?

Mine cost me around $30.00 because I did it myself. It is easy to clean the filters, without damaging them and the inspections can be done fairly easily also if you know what you are looking for. I can't rotate the tires because I have the Sport, so the rest is fairly easy except getting to the cabin filter which shoudn't have any real affect on many warranty items. Everytime I change my oil(I also use synthetic) at about 4000 miles, I usually check everything anyway and top off all fluids as needed. I check my tires at least once a month, if not more often. I bought the Dent and ding protection and had the gut out last week and he repaired the only ding I had(from a shopping cart) on my left rear wheel well fender. He did a great job and the cost of the insurance has already paid for it's self.

under 30 for me. replaced oil/filter myself.

Already had lock/hinge lube, washer fluid, PS fluid, coolant, brake fluid, and Fujita intakes.

Might pick up some wipers, incabin micro filter, tranny/diff fluid, and bleed my brakes with new fluid when i hit 21000miles.

This is the same dealership that thinks 1K off of MSRP is a good deal. One reason I bought car out of CA and do my own maintenance.

Yes, it really costs that much - same price in Tacoma. If you search on this, most people opt out of it or do it themselves. Purely "inspection"
