The dent and ding ins. was $499.00 from the dealer when I bought the car. It's covered by some dentless repair shop here in the DFW metroplex area. Took the guy about an hour and can't tell the 3" long dent was there. Well worth the money for 5 year coverage.

Don't go to dealers unless they offer reasonable price. I prefer going to local auto-fix shops, the kind with passionate and nice people for cars, much cheaper plus I get to stand under my car and watch and talk to them.

Major service on this car is easy. Just all fluid changes. Transmission, rear differential, etc..

May be a dumb question. I am getting 15K service at Nissan and I want to know what I am getting for the $$$.
Does it mean that the following line items don't apply for a G35 journey?
__ Drive shaft boots (4WD/AWD)
__ Propeller shaft (4WD/AWD)
__ Transfer case oil (4WD/AWD)

They only apply to G35x or G35xS. Also, tires are rotated only for the AWD models as well.

Thanks. I have to get the tires rotated as well in my car. The Nissan dealer that I used to go to is charging 450$ for the 15K service.
I am planning to go to my regular mechanic who takes care of my old car. He would do everything including parts for < 150$.
Is there anything that I have worry about in terms of warranty or is it fine as long as I keep all the documentation?

This is a pathetic case of the blind leading the blind. You all need to read your manuals, and stop soliciting the internet for advice. You don't bring an Infiniti to Nissan for service, you either bring it to Infiniti or you take responsibility for the work being done yourself. That means not passing off the list as 'just inspections' but doing the work yourself or making sure the work is done. Sure, some dealerships charge too much, but you do far more damage by throwing up your hands and saying 'screw it, I'm not doing any more than an oil & filter change, because the rest of the list are just inspections'. Cleaning the air filters instead of replacing them? Give me a break. Dings instead of required maintenance? Give me a break. RTFM.

Get a clue, Nissan service = Infiniti service (for all non warranty work)
In Japan your precious Infiniti is a nothing Nissan.
Your the dumb leading the blind.

I just had my 2008 G35-S serviced (15K) for a grand total of $320+ USD, but have the premium maintenance plan...paid $67 USD out of pocket.

Thanks stardust.
If I were blind, I would just go and sign up for a 500$ service at infiniti.
The mechanic that I go to for my old car is very experienced, trustworthy and I have known him for quite a while. Most of the time, he does the job in front of me. I will get all the inspections done and document that.

What I don't understand is the parts would cost < 75$. Supposing it's a 2 hour labor, its more than 200$/hour.
People argue that if you can afford to buy the car, you should be able to afford the 500$ maintenance. To me its not about affordability but about fairness.

Thanks for the forum. Appreciate your answers.
