Exterior Door Panel Alignment
Exterior Door Panel Alignment
Hello all,
Purchased an '08 G35S a few weeks ago. I noticed recently that the passenger rear door does not perfectly align with the front passenger door when both are closed. The panels on both doors seem to be perfect, just the alignment is off.
It is by several millimeters, but is definitely noticeable as a bit of a fit problem. There are several bolts which hold the door on the hinges.
Do any of you know if it is possible to adjust the alignment of the door just a bit so that the alignment is perfect--whether by me or by the dealer? My '04 was just spot on, and this imperfection bugs the heck out of me, especially when the car is clean. It is most noticeable when I look at the side lower panel where one can see more gap from the edge on the back door than the front.
I would think it would have to be adjustable some way for body shops performing repairs.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Ummmm . . . I assume that you purchased the car new. Why not simply bring it back to the dealership for an adjustment and avoid any potential issues? Just a thought. Regardless, I trust that you eventually have the door realigned to your satisfaction.
it looks like the whole door needs to go in. the metal silver thing on your front door that the front door latches too take it lose and push it in like going to the driver side tighten it back up. shut the door and it should be ok. if it wont move you might have to hit it slight with a hammer. i really need some more close pics like the first.
