Rear Climate Control Temperature

I've searched the owner's manual and the site but struck out. If I'm in "dual" mode for the climate control with the driver at one temprature and the passenger at another, which setting controls the rear vents?

More of a curiosity than anything else.

Those rear vents are nothing more than the front vents flowing through the arm rest and out the back.
Whatever you're set to in the front is what you're gonna get in the rear... there's no separate control or temp setting for the back.

Yeah, that's really my question. I know there are no separate controls for them, but do they use the driver's side air, the passenger side air, or both?

This makes the most sense. People in the rear seats are 'passengers' to. If you want to confirm it then test it by setting one side on high and the other side on low and feel what comes out the rear vents.

I think you're right. When a cold and hot front collide, the hot front rises over the cold front and drops in temperature; this drop causes the moisture in the air to condense. Depending on the termperature of the air this moisture will fall down as either rain or snow.

It is a lot harder to heat up the back seat area since it is biger space and further. If you want to test it put driver side low and the pasanger side higher lot higher so you'll feel the different.

Ya, the 3 series doesn't sacrifice rear vents for manual. It just takes some engineering.

Don't manual have rear vents under the front seats? The vents your missing in the manual suck anyways. You need to crank the fans up pretty high until you can feel something.

manual

ya the 6MT does have the rear vents under the front seats and tehy are pretty good, move the front seats up all the way and you can see two ducts under each seat which exhale some nice air... and the rea is conttrolled by the passenger side temp.
