Reflection of White Stripe
Reflection of White Stripe
So I just got a Black '08 G35xS. LOVE THE THING. The only 'oddness' is from the trim under the drivers' side mirror. The paint is shiny enough I get the white line painted on the road reflected in it.
As I am driving I'll catch a glimpse of the white line there, and I'll think a piece of something flew off of the car or got picked up off the road. I look, and see what it was, but it startles me every time.
Any tips? Am I the only one to get this? I'm presuming it'll go away with time, or by getting car dirty.

hysterical, i knew exactly what you were going to say just on the thread subject alone. i noticed the same thing several months ago and had the same reaction (i.e. "whoa, what the?"). i suppose your seating position would factor into how dramatic the reflection appears to each driver. i'm 6'4" and lean way back, so i'm stuck with it. but i hardly ever notice it anymore, it just startles me every now and then.
Yep, so true! It bugs me too. A matte design would solve that. I actually had a dream one night that I was able to change to matte to stop the psychodelic effect.
I have the wheat leather and the dash is unfortunately beige, too. With the rounded shape on the dash above the steering wheel, there are wicked and distracting reflections. It's less of a problem with gray and of little notice at all with black.
