Changed back to my summer rims/tires recently, and found this pin on the ground. Is this just a hair pin or is this an important pin? I think it came from the front wheels. Please advise. Thanks.
EDIT: took the picture with a small post-it note for size illustration.

Isn't that what you use to keep your hair out of your eyes? Originally Posted by st1sj

Seriously, could it be a cotter pin for the wheel hub?

Cotter pin wouldnt have that many humps in it. It would be shorter and thicker without maybe one or two humps.

Either that or it might have been a cotter pin in a '73 Datsun pickup! Originally Posted by GEE35X

now that i think about it that may be the pin that holds the body of the car to the chassis. might want to get it towed to the dealer.

I guess there are not too many women in your life ..... or maybe one too many?

Yes, that is a very important pin. That pin holds the sideskirts to the body of the car. Its one per sideskirt. Go put it back before your sideskirt falls off on the highway!
