This sounds like someone hanging around your campus parking lot took offense of people driving nice cars. Did the police say anything about repeated incidents?

Sorry to hear about your car man. It really sucks when people f*ck with other peoples cars, I had some a$$clown slam a shopping cart into mine last summer and put a dent in the rear valence which can't be easily repaired. Guess I'll just have to wait for more body kit options...

 

well i wasn't really paying attention in ethics that day but I was in a good mood before it all happened so I guess I just felt I did not want any bad karma over my head. figured maybe she would realize she was a bitch and pay for damages.

cop did not say anything about related incidents. the lexus looked like an old scratch, maybe a mad ex-g/f or something

 

that sucks what happened to your car. my car never got keyed in highschool and so far in university i have been fine too, knock on wood. you handled the situation really well...karma can be a bitch. Hopefully insurance takes care of you.

 

We've had about 10 new cars over the years and 3 of them have been keyed in the town we live in. I rarely park our G in town after dark and then only if we're in a very public place that's well lit. We have a "town car" (my old Toyota pickup) that we use for going to movies, the mall etc. (all the prime keying hotspots). It really sucks that lowlifes have no respect for others nice property, but ther's a nice warm spot in hell awaiting them

honestly, you have no proof that she did it... just circumstantial.

but that aside, we have a rash of car keying going on in several local cities around here. its bad enough that there was a story on the news about this new trend kids seem to be doing... keying people's cars.

the only people who benefit from car keying are auto-body shops...

 

I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from putting nails in all 4 tires, maybe key C**T in her hood as well...

A few months ago I went out to my car (was parked at school) and found some 1980s POS taurus that had parked a few inches away from my car, and lining their driver's door up to my car was a big white scuff mark. Needless to say their car ended up with a very long key mark, but I doubt the owner really cared by the looks of that POS...ugh.

 

Man I used to have fun with that little tool back when I was in HS....

i think if you back in to a parking spot, you deserve to get your car keyed. just my opinion

It is statistically safer to back into a parking spot. You are much less likely to hit something if your first move is forward from being parked. I took a class on safe driving for my work last summer. They had a mandatory rule that in the parking lot you must back into a spot. It caused less accidents and really is not that much more effort.

I guess I have been used to it ever since, I don't always do it but by backing in I do not think that validates someone keying my car.
