G35x destroying iPhone?

After about six months of daily usage of my iPhone via the connect kit on my '08 G, I started to get some really FUBAR type errors: calls not getting though, sounds not going through the speaker, the iPhone touchscreen not working.

I couldn't find a remedy to troubleshoot my problem, so I had it replaced by Apple. Fast forward to approximately one month, and the new iPhone is starting to show minor, although similar, signs of trouble...

Other than connected to my G, it's pretty much babied. It's updated to the latest Apple firmware and have used it 100% to spec.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the connect kit is the culprit... Is it possible to get some type of surge situation that is frying the motherboard?

Anyone else run into this problem?

No, I'm having those problems and suspect it's from synching and random data errors. Can't imagine that bluetooth links are causing it any trouble.

No, not the bluetooth, its the cabled connect kit (that feeds into the A/V input in the center console) I use to play content in the car that has me wondering.

I was having some troublewoth the Bluetooth and I did a "restore" thru iTunes and the issues immediatly resolved themselves. You may want to give that a shot. Otherwise I have had no problems with the connection kit although my phone isn't connected that way more then two or three days a week.

^+1 Same here. I use an old 40GB iPod to just leave in the car. I plug it in and forget about it. That way I don't have go to through the pain of plugging and unplugging it every time I get in and out of the car. It's a tight fit with the cable and available space, so it's not really easy to do quickly.

I think Infiniti's iPod connection is only designed to work with iPods and not iPhone. When I've connected my iPhone to old Logitech speakers made for iPod, I get a message on my iPhone saying they are not designed to work with iPhone and asking to put the phone into airplane mode, which I accept and then the speakers work fine.

I use the Bluetooth all the time with my iPhone without any problems. When I want to play music from it, I hook up the headphone jack output to the aux inputs in the armrest of my 07 G35S (no iPod connector in the 07).
