07 G35 Sedan's Navi Screen

The navi screen on my 07 G35x does not get to its fully brightness on startup, it usually takes a couple of minutes before it does. In other words, it's noticealy dimmer than it should be when the car is first started, especially in the morning. Is that normal at all? or should i get it checked out by the dealer?? anyone else experiencing the same thing???

It is the same as any LCD screen; the cathode takes a few to get up to full brightness.

Thank you for your reply.

But doesn't LCD use liquid crystal technology as opposed to CRT(cathod ray tube)?

Probably referring to the backlights of the LCD - which can be LED or cold cathode fluorescent bulbs.

Never noticed any lower brightness on my LCD at startup so you may want to have it checked by the dealer.

When your headlights are on, the nav display and purple circle aroudn the odometer is not very bright. When your lights are off, the nav and purple circle are much brighter.

True, although I think it depends on how you have them set? You can set for full brightness at night, don't know why you would tho.

Once again, thanks for all the replies.

Unfortunately it still behaves the same way when headlights are off. Think I will get it checked out during next my next service anyways!
