Opinions on caliper paint color
Opinions on caliper paint color
Quick question - one of my friends painted his calipers on his 07 Vette red and it looks pretty sharp. I have the Blue Slate G35 and have been debating painting the calipers as well. I'm not sure how well red would go (opinions?). I was thinking of a yellow color for them - I think that may go a little better. Has anyone else done this to a blue slate G35? I'm sure someone has done something similar so I'm just looking to see what the opinion would be. I know I could repaint them if I don't like it but I'd rather get it right in the first shot. I'd rather be driving it instead of taking the wheels and calipers off and painting!
Thanks in advance!

I painted mine red, and they look really nice and accent the black wheels and car very well, get many compliments on it, looking at terrys avatar id suggest you do them red as well IMHO(They wont look as good as his, as he has BBK but you get the idea

I would recommend painting black or gloss black. It definitely looks a lot better then unpainted but you don't cheapen the look of the car either. Win-win.

I wouldn't paint stock calipers at all, it looks really cheap and honestly stock calipers aren't something you'd want to show off anyway by drawing attention IMO. As everyone else has said, pick up a BBK either aftermarket or from another G then you can powdercoat them any color you want.

Only silver or Black. I'm thinking about painting mine black once my new 20" iForged wheels roll in. I painted my front brake calipers silver and added an infiniti logo in black. It looks decent. Black with silver logo would look better.
I wouldn't paint them at all.. because they don't have the type of casing that should be painted... but if you were to paint, I'd suggest going with either the silver that they are now, or wheel matched color... anything contrasting would look bad, you would be highlighting something that's not meant to be highlighted.
The difference with Brem's or other brakes is that they have casings that are meant to stand out, smooth and covered for visual appeal through wide open wheels. Take a look at our rear breaks and they have metal clips protruding and are not very nice looking at all... functionally they are fantastic... but they are nothing like the Coupe-Sport brakes.
