I dont think the G is going to hold its value well going forward, the lease deals these guys have been making are a give away. In the next 2 to 3 years there is going to be a lot of G35s for sale out there as these lease deals come to an end. Am hoping they will continue these lease deals with the 2010/2011 model. I love the G, but the monthly payments just make me even happier.
You gotta remember though, the IS250AWD retails for more than the base G. Factor in the various options, and the G and the IS are actually relatively competitive in terms of depreciation percentage. That IS250AWD that you sold for 25K probably cost more than the '07 Journey initially. Had he actually sold the Journey he could have probably gotten more than 25k.

it's funny how a 31k car goes to a 39k car with all the options. personally, i'd just buy a 335i with no options if i was gonna go loaded g35

^^ Funny how a 40k car goes to 55k with all the options (335i). I'd just go base M3 if I were going to go with a loaded 335i...

Sorry, your argument is very stupid.

The IS250 was a big mistake on my part, everything else with the car was perfect for me but the lack of power was just frustrating. I started looking for a fully loaded car with the perfomance and a nice price. There is only one answer to that, the G.

Personally I wouldnt buy a base model of asnything, the 335i is a good choice though since you get the class leading power. But I like to differentiate myself from all the other cars other than just by power. A car that provides as many bells & whistles as possible with close to class leading power is a true winner for me. It shows I am getting more for my money than just the power and the brand. A lesson learnt from the IS250 (it has no power though)

Just my 2 cents

dido, I did the same thing. a RWD car is fine in the snow with the correct tires. if some one can't handle a RWD car in the snow then it shows poorly on their driving skills.

I can however see the small %.05 times when AWD would be nice

Damn, if you could have waited just a few months more, you could be in the significantly faster G37 sedan with the 7AT.

Yeah, tough pill to swallow for pretty much the same car. Reminds me of back in 1991 when my dad bought my mom a fully loaded eddie bauer explorer in white and she wanted him to trade it in for a green one. He put his foot down but it was going to cost like $8k for basically a trade-in of a 2 week old car with less than 1k miles.

I'd have stuck with the original car and used the lost $15k to get something nicer next time around.

Even Russ wouldn't do this trade.

okay buddy. let's just describe arguments as stupid and that'll make you the smart one. good call...and uhh, i don't remember a loaded 335i which is comparable to a g35 costing 55k. i'm not talking about you putting 19" 5k rims and all the other stuff that doesn't come on a G35. opt a 335i similary to that of a prem/nav/tech g35 and it won't come out to 55k guaranteed BRUH. and a 335i with a chip would smoke a m3 so your argument is even more retarded

You've conveniently gone from comparing prices of cars "with all the options" to comparing prices of similar features.

A 335i with a chip might smoke an M3 in the straight line, but it won't be as reliable. And if straight line performance is all you wanted, you could get that in cheaper ways.

It's not 55k but it's over 50k.
My G has premium/tech/nav packages and is a 5AT. A 335i sedan with leather, premium package, sport package, auto transmission, active cruise control, comfort access system, heated front seats, nav system, satellite radio comes out to 51395 on BMWs web site. My G retailed for 39,700 and I bought it for 37K (I bought it in 11/06 the first full month the '07 Gs were available, so if i were looking now, I'd likely be able to get it at invoice instead of around 1k over invoice, good luck getting more than a 500-1000 bucks knocked of MSRP on an BMW 335i).

+1 I would have to agree. Y pay an extra 10-15k for a car that is on par in every aspect. plus you have to bend over every time you want to get it fixed. now granted BWM comes with the 4 years of service,,,, but that is like paying for all ur service up front at the dealers premium price when u buy the car.
ALSO, you get the added benefit of driving a "BMW" which allows you to act like you can't see the end of your own nose. Which means the rest of us are laughing our way to the bank 10k richer when your still thinking your **** smells like roses.

Now with that said the beamer is still a hot car. It can hold its own and is respectable in every aspect. Buy why pay more and get less? Unless you need a reason to make your **** smell better.
