Break In-Period? You mean the first few miles where you beat the ever living **** out of your car?

As far as the 0-60 times, are you in DS mode or full D mode, are you shifting manually, do you have VDC on/off, are you brake torque'ing?

These things along with various other things such as DA and other stuff will make an impact on your 0-60 times.

DS vs D made no difference at all in my testing. You need to power brake to roughly 3500 rpm, and launch. Without powerbraking times will be in mid 6 range, with PB, you will hit low 5s, I clocked a 5.39 in my G35x averaging multi-pass runs.

Interesting to note, no one knows PB required, but many willing to post their 2 cents...

Interesting note about the PB. My car seems to launch significantly harder without PB. Just give it half throttle then quickly go to full throttle. It launches hard with no spin that way. PB always seems to spin for me.

Take it to the drag strip. Run your car. See what TRAP SPEED you have. That'll tell you if something is wrong with the car. 0-60 and 1/4 mile time have as much to do with traction as power. You're probably spinning your tires.

Note: This is a G35X. Traction isn't an issue here.

Wait wait wait, I thought the break-in period was 1,200 Miles which = 1931 kilometers, so why are some of you not fully breaking the car in until 4,000 Kilometers = 2485 Miles??? As far as I remember all the previous posts said 1,200Miles??

And what's PB? Peddle breaking? or something like that? and whats power breaking? Holding the break and the gas at the same time? You guys have terms I've never heard of before

Some people call it Brake Torquing (which is a pretty accurate term), I have always heard it referred to as Power Braking. Essentially you brake the car while applying throttle to hold the car in place before launch. Relies on the torque converter in the automatic TM drive train, which allows torquing up the engine without stalling it under load.

my engine was broke in when I drove it off the lot with 100 miles on it. That is what warranties are for.

I get 5.4 sec 0-60 with full tank of gas and A/C on, VDC
off. When I turned the A/C off I got 5.5

Humm, sounds like it'll be harsh on the transmission, but I'll get around to trying it one day.

I'm going to wait until 1,200Miles and then I'll break it in fully. I've been slowly increasing the rpms, and I have my first service due this Sat, so not long until I hit that magical millage

YEAH! That's what I did! There was an article about that. When i arrived at the dealer the engine had 14 miles... then after warming up i drove 0-100 mph full open throttle 5 times then for the next 1200 miles I drove it very gingerly and nicely.

Don't worry about speed too much, it's fast enough. Enjoy the ride .

4000 km?!

I hate to tell you this but your car was broken in by 1500 kms. You have been wasting your time driving like a granny for nothing.
