Not psychological at all, the Sport does have a slightly stiffer suspension than the Journey or the X.

I ordered my G35S back in June of 2006, took delivery in December of 2006 (thanks to the damn strike ), and I have been 200% happy ever since. Having the LSD, larger wheels and brakes are sweet, but it's also the other little things in the sport package like side sills, paddle shifters aluminum pedals, white stitching in the seats and steering wheel, and sports seats that make me not regret my choice one ounce. At the end of the day though, you'll end up with a great car no matter if you get the journey or the sport.

I say go for the sports package. I test drove a G35x without and with sports and I liked the sports one lot better. If you're comfortable with the seats, I'd say hit S!

Sport is totally worth it. Because you use it ALL the time! Sporty suspension and VLSD!

Let's see my 2008 G35S has 10,000 miles on it... so I guess I qualify. If I were to do it again I would buy the bmw 335. But then I would miss all the great things about this car. The sport is great. The LSD, larger tires, bigger brakes, and sport suspension are all worthy of the upgrade. The car is extremely stable at high speed. The Nav is nice (8.5 on 10), the rear view camera is superb option (9.5 on 10), the xm radio and subscription very necessary to drive the B(l)ose SOW. Yep I would get it all again unless I could find the BMW 335 series about $9,000 cheaper than current BMW retail price.
Get the sport. True if you get an infiniti or a bmw.

I wish the sport came with the wood trim. Everytime I have configured one online, it replaces the wood trim with the brushed aluminum. Not as nice in my opinion. Sport version is definitely worth it though in my opinion.

I, too, really would have preferred the wood trim on my G35S!

the specs for the Sport don't mention ANYTHING about a suspension change

the LSD seals the deal for me.

Come buy from me; i'll make it worth your while

Hey Mike, we actually spoke on the phone. I am planning on coming to see you, but I have to sell my 2005 G Coupe. Tustin Infiniti game my 17K on the trade-in, so I am in process of selling it. I am pricing is well so I think it should go quickly. I want to try to get in before the 31st to take advantage of the risd value factor on the lease. I would expect it to be about 2% lower for June.

I have an 07 g35s 6mt, I would buy it again.
Are you thinking of the 4WAS too? that I would also buy again. just for the fact that it changes the steering ratio for different speeds. I have gotten the 4 wheel steering to kick in a few times, but only on high speed on ramps. the first few times it doesn't feel natural, but I liked it right away.

the adaptive headlights I could do with out. but I LOVE the ICC, I use it every day.

The X that I get for a loaner on oil changes feels softer, and not as responsive around corners, and the lag/slop in the AT tends to grind my gears.

Go Sport

I like all of the features that the Sport model gives you:
- 18" wheels
- bigger brakes
- tighter suspension
- Limited Slip
- front bumper/side sills
- aluminum pedals
- seats
- paddles

I got the premium, NAV and Tech package, but if I had to do it over again, I would only get premium and NAV. The '07s only offered the back-up camera with the Tech, the '08s now include the camera with NAV. ICC is nice, but I rarely use it. And adaptive(?) headlights you'd probably wouldn't notice that much. Good luck.

Definately go with the sport.I bought My sport 3 weeks ago in the valley, for $500 under invoice, and I think I could have done even better, because the sale was too easy.
On Your trade in....try Carmax. They will buy Your car from You even if You dont buy one of theirs. The Infinity dealer offered me $15,500 for My trade in and Carmax gave me $18,000.That extra $2,500 was a nice bonus.

And to Mike@Riverside....the sport does have the stiffer suspension, the same one as the 6mt sport. It is not listed in the specs(and needs to be),go drive a base journey, and then a sport, and compare!

Thanks for that info gypsy! Where did you go to get $500 under invoice? I would love to save as much as I can.

Thanks!

I just checked the service manual AND part numbers.

Suspension for the sport and non sport are identical.

The coupes have a different suspension, but the sedans do not.

4WAS on the sedan and AWD change the suspension geometry, but not the Sport.
