Honestly, the IPOD integration makes the Music Box useless. My IPOD can do everything the MB can do and it does it better.

OK- read this thread. How many people who didn't get Nav have supplemented their car with some type of aftermarket Nav or want to?

How many have gotten the Nav and are not happy with it or would rather have an aftermarket setup?

My point is this- If its a really good system (everyone who has it, LOVES it!) then why is it not worth the few extra bucks a month vs shelling out 1/2 as much in one fell swoop to add something to your car aftermarket? The resell value of your car WITH facotry Nav is probably enough to justify spending the money even if you NEVER use the thing-

The NAV is not going to make much of a difference in resale. However I wish I had gotten it. It truly is one of the better systems out there and adds a ton of features.

Not everyone has or wants an iPod.

This silly argument has been going on for well over a year whether getting the Navi package is "worth" it or not. To some it's very worth it and to others it's not worth it.......end of story. It being "worth" it or not is as subjective as the color of car you choose.

+1 I agree, it's definitely subjective

Of course, the nav is not going to hold its msrp value over 5 years, but it will depreciate less than the rest of the car around it...Spend some time on Cars, Autotrader, edmunds ect and tell me that I'm wrong...
i'm pretty sure sure I said in 5 years...not now

thanks

And he acknowledged that and clarified where he got his information from to start with. Now, don't be a smartass about it.

do it

I debated both the nav and the sport when getting my 08 Journey. I know where I'm going most of the time, and I really don't need anything more sporty than the Journey. But I went ahead and got the NAV and am really glad I did. It's come in handy on lots of occasions when I've needed it and I really like the rear camera. You'd hate to spend that much money on a car, then keep thinking I wish I had done so and so, so I'd definitely recommend it.
By the way, I now think I wish I had gotten the sport as well.....

I recently went a very long trip with a rental car using some of the latest nuvi portable GPS navigation... Lets just say I got lost more than a few times. So many freaking bugs and it is so inacurate and inconvenient. The nav in my G is leaps and bounds ahead. Definitely worth it.

Thanks for all the replys..I picked up a Plat 08 G with Prem/Nav/Sport/Spolier. So far it a great ride ..if I can just get the Homelink to work with my door opener ill be great but it rides like a dream, and used the nav to go dow n the shore and it worked like a charm, glad I got it.

thanks again

See, For all those pissing and moaning about rehasing an old thread again... Was n't it worth it in the end? we now have closure that he took the advice and is happy...

I don't see why people complain when an old subject gets asked again.. especially as more people have more experience built up.

Congrats on the ride tc61, I'm sure you'll love it!

Really, I thought everyone gets one at birth now? I simply could not drive with my kids without the Ipod video. What in the world did we do for entertainment in the car when we were young? Oh I remember now! Does 99 bottles of beer on the wall sound familiar?

Not sure which is worse getting the kids hooked on the Ipod or teaching them a song like 99 bottles of beer!

I owned an iPod once and thought "what in the hell am I gonna do with this thing?" and returned it two days later.

Since I'll be picking up a new iPhone...I guess that counts as having an iPod. Although the harddrive in the car is more than sufficient for my music needs so an 8 GB version is all I'd need. Plus with the 07, I don't have full iPod integration.
