So the little weights on the rims fell off

^^ if you dont know what i mean.. i guess its the balancers on the rims.. they look like a row of square weights...

this morning before school i went outside to wait for my friend to pick me up.. i look on the ground and see the strip of weights.. i said to myself i hope those aren't mine.. so i walk to my car and check the rims... looks like they are mine.. wtf... how does this just fall off...

would this significantly effect my driving??

is this covered under warranty?

you need to have your wheels re-balanced.

You're going to have a bumpier ride; the worse the balance, the worse the ride.

Also, your tires can wear strangely too

unless you know exactly where they came from, do not put them back on. And do NOT super glue them. When you get new tires they'll likely need to rebalance and they may need to put the weights in different places.

take the car in to a tire shop (or the dealer) and get them to rebalance them for you. This is likely not going to be covered under warranty, but it's not really that expensive, a good tire place will do a single tire for around 20 bucks.

If you can find that exact spot where it fell off from, you can buy some 3m molding tape(its gray tape with red plastic backing, the same tape used for those splashguards) and stick back on.

It's usually the cleanest part or the part where the some of the tape is still stuck on is usually the sign that if where it originally fell from.

...oh and make sure to clean the back side of weights and the area of the wheels with alcohol so it sticks nicely.

It doesn't cost much to rebalance tires. Enjoy the lovely ride quality in the meantime.
