Anywho, my point is that with a traditional key, this can't happen since you can't remove the key from the ignition unless the car is in park.
Someone also mentioned that the car beeps if you turn it off and the car is not in park. It also does that when you open the door, then turn the car off. My co-worker in the passenger seat had opened his door prior to me shutting off the engine so I thought the beeping was because one of the doors was open.
