In case you guys want to know, the reviewer is talking about the comparison from last year. 328i first place and g35 second place.

I think everyone is reading into the EVO vs. G35 comment too much. I think the writer meant that the G35 is more of an adult car than an EVO..... nothing to do with performance comparisons.
Although, considering that a loaded EVO runs $38k..... and comparing the rest of the car to the G35, I'd want the performance difference between the two to be larger.
