Why are there silver dots around my car?

I've noticed in the door jams and under the hood there are some silver dots that are covered in some resin material and couldn't come up with what they could possibly be. Maybe some sort of magnetic vin code?

I would take that to a dealer to look at, it does not look right...

Your car has the measles!

I'd take it to the dealer () and see what they say.

Its probably some sort of "data dot" like nissan did for the 02-03 maxima headlights when they were getting stolen.

Do any other cars from that dealer (that you bought yours from) have those same "dots"?

But wouldn't there be some sort of pattern if that was the case?

The ones on the maxima headlights were completely random. They're kinda like fingerprints for your car.

You know re-sizing the pics wouldn't do you any harm, it hurts my eyes when people post incredibly huge photos like this , Plus Focus better next time

Yes they are data dot. (not sure if that s the exact name) There are like 100+ all around the car to identify it in case of theft. All our cars should have them.

Seriously, can you see any dots in the pic you posted? Connect the dots,
maybe there's a message...."I'M A RUST BUCKET!"

Those are data dots - but you need to register them in order to be tracked when stolen. The dealer offered that service for me but declined it. Hopefully just having the stickers on the door would deter thieves.
