With the FX50 weighing 4600lbs and getting 14/20mpg. Couldn't they fine tune it, for a 1000lb less weight car, and get better milage? What is our V6 getting now 16/23mpg?

YES!!!!

And people paying $65k on a performance sedan care about performance, NOT fuel economy.

FWIW, the FX50 gets better fuel economy than a C63 AMG mercedes sedan.

Hey guys, I have another question.

Will it be easy to negotiate price once the 09 models are in the dealership, at the first few months? (judging from the past experience on 08 models) - you know, currently I may get a deal far below the invoice from my local dealers for 08 G35. If this won't happen for the 09 G37 (and there should be a price bump for the new 09), then it will be several thousand $ difference.

'08s will be far more negotiable than an 09, you can bet on that.

Yes - understand though, you're about to buy an '08 that will take a big value hit (it quickly becomes a year old), so your in the long run your discount needs to be better than the depreciation hit.

2009 G-37 Infiniti Introduction Date

Per reply to my inquiry to Infiniti, here's the quote.

"In regards to your email, the tentative release date for the 2009 Infiniti G37 Sedan is September 19,2008. There is no information about the specifications or when they will be released, there is not a waiting list for the 2009 Infiniti G37 brochure either at this time. For updates visit www.nissannews.com."

Solid information. Thanks for posting. It's going to be a long 8 weeks waiting for the official G37 sedan news.

'08 G37 Journey Auto coupes are 18/24 w/ the 5-speed auto.... so expect that to rise.

the 7-speed auto's are tuned more for the highway mileage to go up.

off topic but people talking about gas mileage look at the Honda Accords... they're even about 19 city--- most people get closer to city mileage but always just look at the highway mpg's

But the general buying public wouldn't.

I bet the price goes up around $600.
