, check out my wheel gap below! Thanks for the welcomes everyone. In order to settle the debate about times, I will take my car immediately upon purchase to the strip so we can settle this issue. Screw the break in period .

After doing more research, I think I've settled on the FI exhaust; I really doubt that there will be compatibility issues between the '07-'08 and the '09, but I have a PM in to FI in to ask.

Also, I ordered my wheels in matte black to mimic that GTR on 22's from several months ago. It's my first set of black wheels, and a bit out of my color comfort zone, but I'm hoping they look good on the sedan. Otherwise I was going to get them color matched or do the polished/chrome thing. Any thoughts?

'08 owner here and no need to feel sorry for me. if I get bored with the 3.5 '08 japanese car, I just cruise on over to the other side of the garage and hop in a 427 ci, 3100 lb monster from detroit

seriously, the 07-08 is a great car as is, regardless of what the 09 ends up being spec wise (or costing). thats a bizare rationale to say "you feel sorry" for an 08 owner? of course cars get better, it's the natural progression of a vehicle, or at least most enthusiasts would hope so. those comments sound like nothing but sour grapes coming from an 03 owner

Congrats on the purchase! Keep us informed if you find out about the new pricing.

As for myself. I'm loving my '08 right now. And when the total redesign comes out in 2-3 years. Will you make fun of the '09-10 G37 sedan buyers?

honestly, as far as the straight line factor goes, it's not like I'd ever categorize any 13 second range car as a monster or anything - LOL. 6 tenths from 13.2-13.8 is for all intensive purposes in the realm of "speed" not a huge difference whatsoever, and probably not a "show stopper" factor of any sort daily driving for most.

so basically it boils down to what is .2 worth to you? am I pleased with my current car or is it worth it to spring for a new one? me personally, I buy new cars every 2-3 years anyways. And I never buy first year runs of a new (significantly revised) model (even though I made an exception in 2006 ). So, I'd actually be more interested in seeing how the 09 fairs mechanically and whats on the horizon for 2010 or 2011. Lets just hope fuel/oil stabilizes and the **** hp gestapo doesn't put an end to these absolutely wonderful hp wars thats happening across many segments

You're right - 13 seconds isn't a monster. But, it's quite substantial. A 13 second car a couple of years ago turned head. A semi-luxury sedan that tips the scales approaching two tons, with a no-torque v6, running mid to low 13's *is* something of an accomplishment. My best time after years of racing and all the mods barely scratches the ET of a mediocre run from a camaro SS, but that car's got 346ci versus the VQ's 213; it has excellent gearing for the 1/4, and its got a solid rear axle versus our independent rear. I turn heads every time I go down the track.

And a half second in the 1/4 is a big deal. You can cut that much time off your ET by using slicks or DR's, but on the motor, it takes a lot of power to punch through another half-second.

I've found owning "quick" (low 14-second) sedans is far more enjoyable that my prior Z28 which was MUCH faster. Everyone expects a F-body, Stang, Viper, Vette, etc to be fast in the 1/4 mile, but people rarely expect sedans, especially import sedans to do basically nothing at the strip. I love having a multi-purpose vehicle that can handle, brake, accelerate, and haul 4 people and luggage in style. Sometimes I do wish I got the 6MT G because I'd have a set of 26" slicks mounted on 15" rims in a heartbeat and be running 13.5s from the get go. unfortunately I have a strong hate for the Asisn/Warner 6MT. I hear the 08 6MT is much better though.

With that said, I'm pretty certain I'd give my nut for a C6 Z06.

so, since we're all getting along now, how cost effective do you think it will be to get the bbk from the 09 sport package installed on an 07-08. If I get that I'll be happy.

Is the Akebono BBK REALLY a BBK that they are offering on the sport package OR is it just a brand labeled package?

According to the ordering list the sport package and 6MT get 4 piston front and dual piston rear. 14" and 13.8"...sounds like the Akebono BBK from the coupe that they are putting on the sedan.

Do you happen to know what the stock set up is for the current sport sedans? While this is good, I'm concerned, because I wasn't planning on throwing on a BBK on my car, and I ordered my wheels as such. Nutz, need to talk to Don regarding my order. BTW, how did you get a 6MT car in KS. Just looking late this year (I chuckle because it really is only mid year), I coudn't find one to buy. Everyone is selling G35xS's.
