I’m hoping somebody in the know might be able to help me out with understanding the spoiler options on the 09 G37 sedan. I’ve seen three factory spoilers on it.

1) The same as the factory spoiler on the 07-08’s

2) The euro-spec spoiler some have put on as an aftermarket item

3) A factory flush spoiler that eliminates the chrome lip on the back end. Pics were captured at the Pebble Beach event.


Kenny (Da Mayor) mentioned in another thread that there are 2 (I’m thinking items 1 & 3 above) spoilers available on the 09 G37 based on how the car is equipped. My local dealer is about to place my 09 order in the next week and my dilemma boils down to this; I love the item 3 flush spoiler and would like it on my car but I definitely do not want to end up with the item 1 floating spoiler. Is there any definitive way to know which one I’d end up with if I added the spoiler to my order?

The order as it stands right now is:
6MT Sport (Garnet on Stone) w/ premium pkg. a trunk mat and cargo net.

option 3 looks siiiick

 

Option #2 is not an OEM product. I'm not sure how anyone can call it "Euro spec" since Infiniti is months away from launching its dealership network in Europe.

"da Mayor" hinted that there will be 2 rear spoiler options for the G37 sedan.

What I'd really like to see is the "front chin spoiler" mentioned in the 2009 G37 sedan accessory list.

 

Sorry guys maybe you aren't seeing what I am but that spoiler for #3 looks odd. It doesn't flow with the car at all...looks like an afterthought like they tried to integrate a lip spoiler but it looks bad. I still think #1 is the best option between the tow by far..and you get the 3rd brake light with it. It's a regular wing-type spoiler but doesn't look ricey at all since it's low to the deck which I like. I don't even like the side profile of that 3rd option so I'm hoping the regular spoiler sticks with the car.

Please don't take offense Funk78 but I'm hoping this thread will yield answers to the question of how the factory if equipping the cars so I can place an intelligent order. I'm don't want this thread to become a debate on which spoiler looks the best. As with all car aesthetics it's purely personal & subjective.

 

I'm thinking there maybe a different spoiler type used between the G37xS and the G37S.

 

Did someone say front chin spoiler?! FINALLY!!!! The S gets a front chin spoiler!!!!

 

Option 1 is the OEM spoiler offered on the 07/08 Sedans.
Option 2 is an aftermarket Euro Spoiler, not an OEM spoiler.
As to option 3, that would be good if it was an OEM option on the 09.
I would like to know about this one also.

I think option 3 looks the best or no spoiler at all.

 

Option 3 looks way over the top unless its going to be completely kitted out and lowered. Euro spoiler makes me want to puke everytime I see it, stock spoiler is most decent at this point still flows with the lines of the car.

 

How the hell is the lip spoiler over the top? It looks almost identical to the G37 Coupes spoiler, and looks very clean and well designed. About damn time Infiniti came out with a REAL spoiler. The current spoiler looks like a.ss IMO

 

OMG! Do you guys even read the thread before you post?! I asked this same thing nicely like 5 posts ago. The intent of this thread is to figure out how to go about ordering a car so as to get the spoiler a given individual prefers.

If you want to argue about which spoiler is best or riciest or flows better or is over the top go create your own thread titled "Let's argue about the aesthetics of spoilers". In the meantime, leave the rest of us alone to find the answers to real questions like "How is Infiniti equipping the 09 G37's?"

 

are you getting navi btw? factory ordered spoilers must have nav to get it... if not, order it spoilerless and just add one on later to be safe.

 

So you have to get navi to get a/either/any spoiler? I am not ordering navi, so if I understand correctly I'm SOL on any factory spoiler.

 

I wanted to revive this thread if anyone has any newer information. My G37S is due soon and I really like the #3 spoiler above. There are two spoiler options in the "Build you Infiniti" online, but no pictures. I

I found this picture in the gallery which looks to be exactly what I want.

FWIW, mine will have NAV.
