touch up paint for the wheels?

There's a small rock chip on a spoke on one of my sport wheels and I called the local infiniti dealership to see about some touch up paint. To my disappointment they said they cannot get it and said I'd have to go to a custom paint shop to have them match it probably.

Does anyone know if I can get a bottle of touchup that's in the color of the sport wheels?

Plus one but for the non sport too. I noticed while cleaning my X last weekend I had a chip on one of my 17" wheels.

Wouldn't the silver paint marker work. I mean it would probably not be the same. We only talking about a tiny spot. I still have the blue dots on my wheels from the factory. Most of us do I think. If that does not annoying then the silver paint marker should not either.

It could end up worse looking if the paint or finish is too far off.

I was wondering the same. I'm surprised they don't have touch up paint.

What does the dealership do when their cars have chips on the wheels?

"Hello sir, we noticed your wheels are damaged and are unsafe to drive on. This is not a warranty item but we can order you a brand new set for JUST 500 dollars per wheel!"

If you're lucky, you'll get the rims for $500 a rim. I've been looking for rims the past 4 months. Best price I got from a dealer, via mail order, was $580 per rim, shipped and I mentioned to the guy I was looking for 4 so he cut me a break, on the quote that is.. All other mail order dealers wanted around $600 per rim, before shipping.

The dealers close to me wanted $700..

Anyone have any updates on this? I’ve got some wheel damage caused by a tire shop putting on new tires. What about some type of clear coat? If I can’t make it look any better, I’d at least like to prevent any more paint from peeling off.

Take it to a wheel repair shop... same thing happened with my G... I was in philly at the time... took it to this shop and they had all high end cars lined up there... he told me dealers send the cars here for repairs. After he was done... I couldnt even tell which wheel was repaired. Cost was nominal (around $80) and he washed/waxed my car, cleaned the engine as a courtesy... some shops charge that much just to have car cleaned... I thought I got a great deal with him.

Wheel repair shop will do it as mentioned above.

My wife curbed the 2 wheels on pass side. and I was quoted $50 for front and $80 for rear as the rear was worse.
I had the car at the dealership for warranty repair and mentioned it to the service writer, he said that they have a guy who does it on-site but their price was $150 each. I had the dealership do it as the car was already there and they turned out great.

Warning, the dealer said to put new tires on the vehicle first and then repair wheels. I told the service writer that my buddy does my tires and he won't scratch my wheels. I had new tires put on 1 week after wheels were done, and of course, the new paint on the repaired areas did scratch off. I was warned and have decided to live with it as it is still 10 times better then the curb rash. However I feel like a jackweed as I paid a premium to have it done and should have taken the advise of the service writer.

One more thing.
For some reason, these wheels get scratched from the tire machine. I know the stock potenza tires stick out as a curb protector, but when the machine takes the tire off, this rubber lip forces the wheel up on the machine casing it to ride on the lip of the wheel. I've seen it happen at my buddy's shop, and at les schwab.
I've given up on trying to keep these wheels scratch free, as it's just not going to happen.
