One of the things that makes it easier is keeping the underside of the overlays wet all the time. Once the backs dry out and you have to pull them off once they've tacked up they get a bit tougher to work with. Just work in small sections, getting one part just where it needs to be & squeegy'd flat (while keeping the rest of the vinyl wet) then moving on made it pretty easy for me. Using heat to shrink/or stretch should be done as minimal as possible since the vinyl tends to lose a bit of it's pliability if overheated. Get it close then use heat to get the final fit if that makes sense.
