i heard someone mention about black chrome grille?

http://www.g35parts.com/9083/osc/pro...roducts_id=756 this site sells a trunk lip for the G37 with a core exchange... if a vendor here could clarify is this an infiniti thing of is the vendor just getting it chromed..would appreciate more info.

I would think the black chrome would look wierd unless you swap all the exterior trim over to black chrome. There's a fair amount or shiny trim on the car. Having black next to regular chrome would look like an aftermarket job IMHO. OK on Civics but not on a luxury sedan.

Other than that i would agre if you want black chrome you shoud think about changing all chrome emblems to black chrome...

 

if they have them why not...but then you are still left with the window chrome.... we do know that everything g35 sells a black chrome emblem kit for the G37. So I assume it either can be bought seperately, or you can buy the Kit and not use the G37 emblem. I am guessing the Mt fuji for the trunk and the infiniti lettering are the same for all vehicles, doesnt make sense to make mutiple types. The front grille mout fuji thing they also have in black chrome for the G37........so its realling interesting if they have that......for the frnot.... wouldnt it make sense that the grille would also come in black chrome? but i dont see it on the site...

but u see they may have all these for the coupe because the coupe doesnt have the window chrome, so changing stuff would be easy, for sedans with window chrome we have a challenge. I am guessing if you really want to, we can buy those window chrome and get it redone some place. I can be certain that infiniti wouldnt have this now for the G35 sedan now that I think about it...

 

I think it might be worth it just to take it to a good paint shop so they could do everything at once.

 

Or...as an option I've seen the window chrome blacked out using a high quality tape that looks nearly identical to paint.

Then the black chrome would be the front grill and rear tail lip.

Just a thought.

 

paint shop is one thing.. finding a place who chrome things well is another. and i looked at the manual to get that window trim off is a BIG project. *sigh*
