Garnet where did you purchase your snow tires? I remember you posted pics of your setup on used 350 Z wheels. I am in Toronto and looking to order some tires from Tire rack soon.
The TPMS light just stays solid. I purchased my Blizzaks/350Z wheel combo from a member here on Driver. I paid $500 for the entire set. Keep checking the Marketplace as there is usually winter setups for sale.

If you don't mind a drive to Buffalo, check out Bailey Tire
I just purchased 3 sets from them that worked out cheaper than Tire rack.

For only one set & less agro, Tirerack may still be your best bet.

Also a local source that can be very competitive at times is Steelecase Tire.

& check out the 'winter tires info' sticky in the Canadian section for more info

Spud Raced, which wheels from tirerack are you getting to mount the Blizzaks on? 17" wheels? If I have the sports package with 18" wheels would getting 17" wheels cause a clearance problem with my brakes?

Here's the link to the wheels I was planning on getting.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...60&qty_front=4

Reasonably close in looks to the factory wheels and about as inexpensive as you can get an alum wheel. I'm going with the Blizzak WS60 215/55 on a 17" wheel.

Our G35X doesn't have the sport package and I'm not knowledgeable enough about the package to know whether a 17" wheel will clear the calipers. Does the sport package include larger calipers or just different pads and rotors?

This was a car for my wife. She wanted the Nav system and the premium pkg had stuff she cared about. The car we were interested in also had the tech pkg and wood trim so those came along for the ride. But my spousal unit would not know or care whether she was driving an F430 or a Buick when it comes to performance so I didn't even give the sport pkg a thought.

Plus, the G35X seems to have a nicely firm suspension and decent brakes for its mission in life even without the sport stuff. I drove one with the paddle shifters and quite frankly it didn't do anything for me. I find it more natural reaching for the lever on the console. Years of manual transmissions I guess.

I have seen in another post members say it takes about 45 minutes before the TPMS recognizes the loss a signal, so light does not pop on right away....

Do you guys notice the same, or other? I am putting my new winter setup on in a couple of months (17"s I used on my previous car {STi} during the winter, with new WS60s, 225/55) without sensors, and my daily commnute is 10 minutes or less, it would be nice if the light needed some time to pop on

Otheriwise a strategically placed piece of electrical tape may be in order, LOL

Oh yeah! Low tech over high tech. I've used this for two seasons on two other cars. Works great, costs almost nothing, takes two seconds, completely reversible with some windex.

Guys with aftermarket rims do this all the time.

Worse comes to worst, just transfer the sensors back and forth; if you get a second set, you have to re-program them to the car every time you switch wheels.
So if I had two TPMS on two sets of rims.. every time I change tires I need infiniti to reprogram my car to it? :S

Does that cost money and how long does that take? :S

And, as I found out, a RWD car with low profile summer tires is like going sledding in merely 2 inches of snow

Well I just looked at the service manual. Now I know why my TPM light comes on all the damn time!

Every time you change tires, rotate, or otherwise move a tire, you have to go back to the dealer and have them "reset" the TPM system.

Well that's a PITB. Other systems can be reset with a cheap magnetic device. It looks like the tool described by Infiniti is not cheap. I hate to take the time to go to a dealer for simple stuff like this.

some times I think that the people who design cars have their head shoved so far up their *** when they come up with things like this.

How hard would it have been to make it to it would auto sync with the TPMs

Or make it so a user can sync them

Autosync is not a good idea. Just think about the comfusion you can make if you park right beside anoher car with TPMS and you are syncing the info from the other car.

So I think that answers your question how hard it can be. For sure it is not as simple to auto sync.

Yes, and yes.

About 30 minutes (roughly) at a dealer.
