Spacers=vibrations??
Spacers=vibrations??
Does anyone have issues with there hubcentric spacers?? I have ichiba hubcentrics and I've noticed a slight difference in road vibrations. I was considering getting the wheels rebalanced, however thinking that these wheels were already balanced to manufacturers specs I doubt this will solve the issue. Please help with advice if anyone knows how to minimize or get rid of these vibrations.
I've run on ichiba hubcentric spacers, no problems on my cars. I'd first get the tires balanced then try and retest for vibrations.
BTW: when does the vibration occur, is it at a certain speed? or constant. If it's balancing, it normally will occur within a certain speed range. ( ex. 55-65 mph ) then go away as you get away from those speeds. Also I was thinking when I got my ichiba spacers, the center (hub centric ring) was sitting a little out of the mounting surface of the spacer. I pressed it in, and it sits perfectly now, but maybe yours isn't sitting flush. I'd try removing everything and remounting them just to be sure. Maybe something is loose?
Or, maybe it's the change in lever arms on the suspension. You are pushing the rim out a bit.

I've been running the Ichiba 15mm spacers with the built-in studs for the past week. I don't have any more vibrations than I did without the spacers. Looking at the quality, I don't see how that should be an issue. They are machined perfectly over the hub. Were the vibrations not there before the spacers? That would be odd if they are new...maybe the lug nuts weren't properly tightened on the wheels--I try to get all 5 snug before I start torque-ing them to spec. Also, if these spacers are new, make sure you retorque the bolts that attach to the old studs, just like you would new rims.
