XM - ZWINBACK - Code Still Works

I got a call from XM tongiht as my 3-month trial will expire on Oct 29. They tried to get me on several packages.

I said the only thing I would consider was the 1 year trial for $77 with the ZWINBACK code. She said hold on and 5 seconds later, she came back on and said no problem. Additionally, since there is no lapse in my coverage, there is no re-activation charge.

After the year, the rate goes back up to $142 for the year. (XM Traffic is an additional $3.99/month, but I dont need it)

So the code still works to those who may be getting calls when your trial expires...

In my opinion it WILL work or they aren't getting any money from me. I could care less whether or not the offer is still on the books or not. I shall find out in 6 or 7 weeks when my trial is up.

I just asked for the $77 deal and they gave it to me. No codes or anything.

Worked for me. I just renewed yesterday after a previous promotion for the last 3 months ran out. They didn't want to give me the deal, saying I couldn't use another promotion, so I explained I wanted to cancel then. Sent me to a different lady, told the story again, and got the deal no problem (with traffic additional @ $3.99/mo).

XM is one of the reasons I have 3 G35-S's in my family

Oh, did I mention the fun to drive?

BTW: get the traffic. I used it in NY recently and was able to avoid a nasty traffic jam

I just wish the traffic was a bit more "proactive"... suggesting alternate routes etc.

I was able to get the deal... you can get an additional $12 off if you do it on your credit card, but be warned that they will automatically bill you at the higher rate when your time is up. Also, I heard of people getting the same $77 after the year was up by simply asking for it... no code required.

I hate the lack of suggestions of alternate routes... Tomtom was a lot better at that. Bu the accident marking was surprisingly accurate several times and I was able to make my own alternate routes from it.

It actually does suggest alternate routes if you have a route planned through an area that has heavy traffic or a wreck. Not the best solution. But you really can't expect it to suggest alternate routes if it doesn't know where you are going .

Interesting... I am in the Houston area and even when I drive down I-45 or Beltway 8 with my destination programmed in, I have yet to see it suggest an alternate route. I will make a point of programming it for home on my commute this PM and see if it suggests an alternate at any point.

Just got the call last night from XM. They were offering the 3 month deal and I told them that i had some friends that got a year for $77 and she didnt even hesitiate to give it to me. Then she asked if I wanted an invoice and I said I did and she told me it was a $2 invoice charge. My wife was like whatever(had it on speakerphone) and before I could say anything she said i can waive that fee as well.

It seems that they are really hungry for customers to stay. BTW I got my car at the end of April and my "3 month" trail is going to expire on Nov 12th. So I got 18 months for around $4.27 a month.

My sub just renewed last week. I called them to cancel because I needed that money to buy new tires. They refunded my credit card and gave me 3 months free. Just wish my finance company was that generious.

I've got the phone call too on Friday. They offered me the 3 months renewal. I took it for 6+ a month and after 3 months I'll call them and will "cancel" it. I'll get the 77/year that time. So it will be 15 months for 1/2. That's the plan.

Truth is the zwin... code has always been there. xm reps get paid commission so of course they're gonna try and rape you. but at the same time they don't want you to hang up that phone. don't give up. name the price i called them and i didn't mention any promo codes. i got xm + nav traffic for 82.90 minues 12.00 for putting a credit card on file and automatic renewal. so that's 70.90 ... for xm and nav traff.
