2009 Paint
I was just wondering if anyone knew it the 2009 were going to be equipted with that Paint Shield Paint?
Everyone's been talking about the new engine and the new trans...As much as I can't wait to test drive the new G...I want to know more about the paint...considering I use to detail cars...I was wondering if the new type of paint would have any adverse affects on standard detailing methods?
For example...use of a buffer...
Thanks in advance...

It's been discussed somewhere on driver before. The explanation I remember is that the clearcoat slowly cures over a period of years allowing it to seep back into the shallow swirls and scratches in the clearcoat only. You only will need to wax it until it completely cures, becoming just like regular paint and needing buffing to remove swirls. Any deeper scratches and you have to use touch up paint.

Here's Nissan's website on the Scratch Sheild paint: http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/TECH...TAILS/SCRATCH/
Baiscally it's all in the clearcoat. When you park out in the sun it will "repair" the paint. I suppose any heat source will do.
