Documentation Fees

Does anyone know if the charge for a documentation fee is inclusive of the cost for transferring license plates, or are they separate?

For me, they were separate...$259 for doc fees and $105 for license/reg/and title. So..

Might be different elsewhere...they should break it down for you.

doc fees are 55 for a purchase and 45 for a lease at our dealership.

Transferring plates depends on your state.

I was charged $400 purchased the vehicle in nyc, live in nj. They processed all my paper work and had my license plates and registration delivered to the dealer. Saved me time not going to the dmv so I was happy.

our dealer will only charge 55 dollars for all purchases.

i had them lower the price by $215, which was the doc fee.
i told them i was not going to pay it.
