What do you *like* about your G?

I am a new member of the board but have been reading g35driver for a long time as I've been thinking about a G to replace my '06 BMW coming off lease. Stimulated by a post I saw (apologies to the original poster who I can't remember) I went down to drive an '08 G35xS just to feel the suspension -- COMPLETELY convinced I was waiting for the 37x sedan. Long story short, they were giving away the '08s and hit a lease number $80 under my target monthly with $0 down and they're giving me a check $1,100 to pay the last two months of the Bimmer's lease.

So here's the thing: I'm now reading the '07+ section and everything's a complaint: the Bose stereo sucks, the seat heaters don't get hot, the voice command lady's voice is annoying, gas mileage is no good... and on it goes.

Help me out: What do you *like* about your G? Help me know I'm being more than fiscally responsible by going for the '08 -- hell, or even going for the G at all. I'm starting to feel like I should be going back to BMW or even Audi. Help guys (and gals)... why is this car bad a$$? Tell me fast -- I have delivery tomorrow...

*maybe* '08 G35xS platinum silver, premium/nav

Love the look inside out, fast, love the tranny's gate and precision, love the Bose stereo, music box is good, Best navi iv ever had(comparing to my currect 07 TL-S), ease of use of everything.

Engine sound as RPM's climb, handling is top notch with 4WAS, basically for ME it has everything and more than what i expected at this point in time and promises to keep its "value,/class" years down the road considering all itts tech...

I love everything about this car, they way it drives and how i can keep up, although always behind my friend 335i where he paid 20k more for hahaha. The interior is awesome, fantastic seats. The heated seats works just takes a while. The sound from the Bose sounds really good once you tweak it just right. The AWD system is amazing, I was out with my friend and his 335i, in a sharp corner he thought i was crazy, I braked later and hit the gas sooner. Only problem too much body roll, there was tire squeal and he said he saw my tail flapping around but while i was driving i felt nothing, totally confident.

I don't think you'll ever find a car where every owner loves everything. Heck, just check out the BMW forums. I love the way this car looks, inside and out (I love the exterior of the BMWs, but really prefer the interior of the G). The car drives great, is faster than I'll ever need, is pretty smooth, and handles like a champ. I really like the Bose stereo (with some tweaking) and think the usability of the interior is great. I have the music box but think it's just stupid that you can only use CDs to copy songs on (who has CDs anymore). The only thing I really don't like is that you have to wait for the voice control lady to stop talking before you can say anything. Other than that, I love this car.

hey Mazadi, you can press the talk button again to shut her up and talk, so you don't HAVE to wait.

Get the G

You won't regret it for a second. The car has soul. It is plenty fast. You'll spend more time driving and less time in the shop than with the German brands, on average. IMO, the exterior and interior design/styling are much better than in BMW and Audi sedans (except the A8).

I'll be the G will be a car you appreciate more and more over time. It truly is an excellent vehicle. Again, IMO, there really isn't anything major not to like. You get a beautiful, classy vehicle, with excellent performance and reliability. How can you go wrong?

I love the distinct sound of Nissan's beautifully-crafted V6 engines. There is no other sound like it...I literally stop everything I'm doing if I hear one of these 3.5 litre engines in any proximity. The car is refined to where there is a balance between stiff-handling and most importantly, FEEL.

I've never been one to buy packages mainly because that would've raised my monthly payment by a good bit, so I opted out of getting the packages. The good thing about this car is even if you opted out of navigation and premium sound...the car is so easy to work with. There is a navi alternative that doesn't limit you with the motion lockout and you definitely can't go wrong with JL audio...

I still walk backwards when I park so I can see her sitting there all alone...I park 100ft away from all cars and girls think I'm weird for liking my car more than them...I can't stop modding this car either, it's just too addictive...once you get an exhaust put on this car, it's game over.

I totally agree! The exhaust note of the 350Z/G35/G37 is just intoxicating!

i love the fact that not a lot of people around my area (LA) have this car. Lots of MB, Lexus, BMW's - so my car always turns heads. I love the interior - I look at the interiors of mb and lexus and tell myself, this is it? I like the bang for the buck. I love the hp and how much faster it is than most people in the same class/model range. Good investment.

I love the whole package. Well balanced and unbeatable price in its segment. Infiniti has the style what no other makers have from Europe. They have too many similarities. Infiniti is lot more reliable then others.

You see problems on the forum. Because some people only look for help. They don't share their excitment.

Gasmilage. It is not as bad as most think. I have crazy gasmilage but I floor my G all the time. My wife drove the G for a week in city and got 7 mpg better then I did. It is not the car it is the driver.

Hope this helps.

I love my 07 Sport Fully Loaded. My only complaint is the ratling in the passenger door while playing the SOW loud. Besides that, The mod bug will bite and you will find yourself spending money on the exhaust system and interior and exterior lights and the tech. chip. Maybe I am just speaking for myself. Lol

awesome feedback, guys. thanks.

funny comment about the "mod bug" -- i was on here earlier just reading around and ALREADY ordered LEDs for the interior, trunk and license plate And if you have a thought on best mod for a *leased* g, let me know -- i was thinking intake would be easy but i'm open to ideas.

i pick it up at noon tomorrow -- and i'm actually going to leave an 06 330i parked in the driveway for the next two months (by the way, if you know someone in the market for a graphite 06 330i with sport and a 6MT and only 17,500 miles, let me know... i'll be driving the g).

thanks again... glad to be a part of the board.
